the southern discourse gives me life. tbh since getting into omgcheckpls i've feared when the day bitty drops it on his parents that he's gay for the exact reason i won't tell my family i'm bi. we're from the south. i'm in ky. my parents love me and friends that know them tell me they'd support me if i came out but i'm like. no. my dad is so extremely homophobic. there's no way he wouldn't kick me out. so many lgbtq people that live in the south have to trade their identities for their security and that fucking sucks ass. i know it happens everywhere but it’s so much more common in the south. and!! what you talked about in a previous ask. that sometimes homophobia isn’t outright. mostly it’s “don’t shove it in my face”. don’t shove your love in my face. don’t shove your existence in my face. it’s so frustrating. i wish ppl didn’t try to erase that (2/2)—————————————————————————————————-

i know!! my family is more of the second type, if i were to come out to them it would be more like “oh okay….thats fine but just dont mention it or bring a girl here and also if you marry a girl i wont come to the wedding” and that hurts me deeply. theres one (1) member of that particularfamily ive been talking about that would be in my corner, shes my cousin and shes one of my best friends. but thats it, everyone else would be so uncomfortable with it and it tears me apart and i know thats the same situation in omgcp and having people erase it is frustrating and makes me angry cry lmfao
