What is your name?

- Kako se zoveš? -- we say it often on this way! - Kako je tvoje ime? --this is rare! - Koje je tvoje ime? --this is rare! - Tvoje ime je...? -- your name is...? --well, we use this sometimes :D My name is ... - Zovem se ... - Ja sam ... -- I am... --Also very usual :)

TO BE - BITI

I am - Ja sam (Ја сам) You are - Ti si (Ти си) He is - On je (Он је) She is - Ona je (Она је) It is - Ono je (Оно је) We are - Mi smo (Ми смо) You are - Vi ste (Ви сте) They are - Oni su (Они су)

Now you can use combination of other words with any of these phrases and make some very useful sentences, describe something or tell somebody about yourself or about world around you.  Here are some examples:

You can also add descriptive words with 'I'm' such as: extremely – izuzetno OR ekstrenmo very - veoma OR jako terribly - strašno super – super a bit – malo ***In Serbian you don’t need to use full form like: “Ja sam zbunjena.” every time! You can use shorter version: “Zbunjena sam.” As you can see we don’t put Ja, Ti, On, Ona, Ono, Mi, Vi, Oni every time! That is because our verb TO BE is different for every form: SAM, SI, JE, SU, SMO, STE… On that way even without personal word we know about know we are talking? Is this hard for you?
