Serei Musings v1
**Hey there are SPOILERS here! Read at your own risk!**
Serei is interesting and masterfully written for the kind of character he is, so far. His initial presence in the game is interesting with a hint of menace, especially if you're an established Dangonrompa player and compare him to Monokuma. He states his interests as the protection of humanity, but his control of the situation, combined with refusing to explain the truth until everyone is on board... But then him coming around at the end of day 2 is a real surprise. He didn't mean to hide it for long, and most importantly, he *admits* he made a mistake and will explain everything.
Then he FUCKING DIES and leaves everyone in the dark. Serei vanishing on night 2 is so funny because for the vast majority of the first run, serei becomes basically just a memory. A cuter-as-you-forget mascot, a tragic loss, and as the original story progresses, he even gets used as a medium for another character's revival. Ima-Serei is hilarious and fun for the wackyness of the story at that point and seeing that body die a second time adds to the tragedy of it all.
But on going back and creating new timelines, where saving Serei is the first thing you do and thus he's alive in (theoretically) all of them, one of the first things striking about him being back is the menace of his presence. I genuinely forgot how much I distrusted him and now, he adds such an edge of suspense because he clearly knows more than I do on important things and his view of "the will of humanity" may well involve stopping me.
I'm still only on like day 52 or something of my first choice-based route but already I'm wishing there was a way to keep Serei dead on the new routes. I feel like he's gonna cause more problems later on, and offers no actual advantage.
