I’ve begun working on a Grea x Persona AU, where my Grea characters are now the cast of Persona 5. The Rangers are now the Phantom Thieves, the Roundtable are the Palace Bosses, that sort of thing.
Here is the first Phantom Thief of this AU, Serena Sohee of the Priestess Arcana, with the code name “Majesty.” Like in Grea, she’s the protagonist of this project and the first to awaken to her Persona. She had moved to England to get a Fashion Degree, working as a Live In for the Singraves. She ends up forming the Phantom Thieves to take down the Roundtable and other corrupt higher ups.
Her Persona, Kongjwi, is known as the Korean equivalent of Cinderella. After her parents died, Kongjwi was abused and worked as a servant for her Stepmother and Stepsister (known as Patjwi). They’d give her impossible chores to do but Kongjwi would gain help from animals. However this usually resulted in Kongjwi facing harsh punishment or beatings due to completing the tasks. A Magistrate fell for her at a festival, and thanks to a lost shoe he married Kongjwi. Enraged, Patjwi drowned Kongjwi in a river and pretended to be her, while Kongjwi became a spirit and haunted the river. After a brave man heard her story, the man reported it to the Magistrate. When the Magistrate went to the river to retrieve his wife, he retrieved a golden lotus and kissed it, which caused Kongjwi to come back. Patjwi was killed and turned into sauce, and the stepmother died when she realized the sauce she was eating was her daughter.
