Described By: Rich & Vickers-Rich
Classification: Dinosauria, Ornithischia, Genasauria
Serendipaceratops is an ornithischian from the Early Cretaceous, specifically the Aptian age, around 115 million years ago. It was found in the Wonthaggi Formation in Australia and is known from a lower arm bone. It can only be confidently placed in Genasauria, a group that includes most Ornithischians, however it was originally thought to be a Ceratopsian, one of the only ones known from the Southern Hemisphere. It was then thought to be similar to an ankylosaur, and thus, remains in Genasauria without further remains.
