Totally love this show! Was really funny and interesting! I give it 5/5 ⭐. It only has 10 episodes and I watched it all in one day. I definitely recommend this one, it's truly very good! Hoping for a second season soon 🤞🏻🤩

P.S. I love Abaddon! He's definitely my fav character in the show and omg he was so amazing in the last episode! Started liking him even more after that episode.

Personal Opinion:

The Dragon Prince is many things: It is a very multifaceted series, instead of limiting itself to being a conventional fantasy & epic adventure, it takes the time to delve almost poetically into the psyche of its characters and make it clear that there are no conventional "villains" or "heroes", but imperfect people full of fears and marked by their past.

It is a series that is aware of its limitations, whether in the technical or rating aspects (at least in the first 5 seasons), but still manages to overcome its own limitations, offering a beautiful visual aspect, impactful scenes, and a very well-achieved progressive evolution of tone.

It's a story that was crafted with great care and attention to detail; it's one of those shows where every time you watch it, you notice a new detail that will contribute to something future. But also, it knows how to take full advantage of its diverse media; whether it's the spin-off stories, graphic novels, or games, everything is developed while maintaining something that many other multimedia franchises fail at: a impeccable coherence and a clear focus on the main product (the series), so that the additional media complement the story but aren't essential for understanding and enjoying it.

It's a series you can expect a lot from, and it usually delivers: it can be heartbreaking, emotional, ridiculous, intelligent, or epic, making the experience of watching it in its entirety a true journey.

The biggest negative point I can make, besides the fact that the humor can sometimes feel intrusive or careless, is the dip in quality when transitioning from one arc to another., because there was a drastic drop from season 3 to season 4, but fortunately, this was resolved as the new story progressed.

So yes, if you can, give it a chance, and if you like it, support its creators so they can bring us "The Dragon King," a sequel series that will delve deeper into the loose ends left by the original story.

two netflix series that are actually good and that i recommend to radblr:

The Haunting of Bly Manor. I watched this last year and i loved it, i was thinking of rewatching it. It’s marketed as horror but tbh it’s not that scary/violent. It’s incredibly sad though. If you like tragic love stories with a bit of horror then give it a try. Main love story is between two women

The Residence. I finished it a few days ago and i absolutely loved it. She’s that witty, super smart type of detective with a niche hobby which i love. I had never seen a female detective written this way before and it was so refreshing. If you like mystery with a side of comedy check it out. The editing could be a bit chaotic to some but i think it fits this type of comedy

Welp, this request had me struggling! It's actually harder to find than I thought 😆 Sure the MLs get abducted, threatened and all, but actually used as hostages? Not really, it's more often their loved ones who get this treatment (unfortunately).

But hey! I scratched my brain really hard and managed to find some, and if anyone can think of others, feel free to jump in!

🇯🇵 Bitter Blood (2014), ep. 1 & 10 (ML finds himself in two group hostages situations and is threatened with guns - hold to his head, shoved in his mouth -, this show is short and fun, I liked it!)

🇰🇷 Missing: The Other Side (2020), ep. 9 (ML is abducted in previous ep, wakes up in this one tied up and hanging upside down, knife is put to his throat to use him as hostage when police rushes in; one of the first kdramas I watched and I really enjoyed it)

🇯🇵 Bloody Monday (2008), ep. 8 (ML is kept as hostage with a few other students, he's manhandled and a gun is shoved in his face; whump is nice in that drama but I was really bored overall)

🇨🇳 Killer and Healer (2021), ep. 14 & 15 ("Healer" ML is kinda the King of hostage situations; loved this one as well!)
