Some of you are very nasty. Being happy because a player is injured is extremely ugly behaviour. Do you even like football?

So no shade, really to each their own.
I’ve been seeing an interesting take about anime fanfic lately and it gives me some pause. Especially as someone who likes to research. Why is it that you hate when writers use Japanese terminology for very specific things? A genkan and an entryway while theoretically the same thing are not actually the same thing. An engawa and a porch while technically the same thing in terminology have different vibes in writing. Especially in anime fics where they actually take place in Japan, or something Japan adjacent.
Because when I hear this take, the only thing I think is that you are not willing to learn about the culture, country, people, ect. that the media you consume comes from. If I’m reading something that takes place in the deep south as an American who comes from the deep south- and it doesn’t use the right words for the very specific thing then I know its written by someone who doesn’t give a fuck about the place they are writing in. It ruins the experience for me. If you love anime, learn about the fucking culture and people stop saying shit like “hai is so cringe.” “why couldn’t they just write mr?” and stop being dicks to the authors who have taken the time to learn and incorporate stuff from the actual place it comes from. There are tons of resources out there about honorifics and what specific things are called. Read about the practices, learn about what is and isn’t acceptable in a school setting.
And if you come in here saying ‘well its in English and i don’t like such and such so’.. fuck off. Just fuck right off. News flash, non Americans and non-predominantly English speaking countries can actually speak English. In fact a lot of really good fics are written by folks who’s first language isn’t English and they still take the time to do the research.
Actually this is shade, If you think you’re superior because you don’t read fics with inclusion from the culture and place the fic takes place in then you are an asshat. If you shit on people who do include it cause you think its cringe, just stop, obviously fanfic reading isn’t for you and you don’t deserve fic writers. So kindly go fuck yourself.
Learning about the place your favorite shit comes from is important. Because if not you sounds like a dipshit.
It takes two seconds to google something. If a term confuses you- fucking google it. Look it up and open your brain to learning a thing or two about people outside of you’re suburban white American neighborhood.
Cringe is dead, fucking educate yourself.
The refs might as well be wearing Avs jerseys instead of their stripes tonight. This is absolutely pathetic!

My college prof. just talked about how he went to France and got on a train and didn't feel like it was France because he was the lightest-skinned person on the train (prof. is japanese) like seriously could you stop casually promoting the idea that poc don't "belong" in Europe
