Okaay so I'm probably gonna close posts for a while instead of posting them now.. great sure why not thanks... -.-
LGBTQA (don't erase asexuals) already know oppression exists. Or are you speaking out on behalf of the straights who get fired, disowned, raped, beaten and/or murdered SPECIFICALLY for being straight? Oh wait, that's right, no such thing.
Listen up, folks. If you have access to the Internet, you are not oppressed. Someone go let Trayvon Martin know.
ME: “Someone let all the LGBTQ* people know this, too. Seriously, SUCH A RELIEF TO KNOW THAT INTERNET ACCESS MEANS OPPRESSION DOESN’T EXIST!”
The asterisk includes those not mentioned in LGBTQ. Even adding A and leaving off the asterisk excludes people. As a side note, many asexual people do not agree with being added to the LGBTQ* movement, so it is safer to use the asterisk as a place-holder for those asexuals who DO identify with the Queer community and to respectfully exclude those who don't feel they would like to be an included part of the community. It is a catch-all for those not mentioned, and those who identify under “other” where a label isn’t yet available. Please do research before you accuse me of leaving people out.
I’m not speaking on behalf of any straight people? Clearly you don’t understand when one is laughing at the fact that others would be so dull as to believe that oppression is erased simply because one has internet. Please refer to the conveniently added copy/paste of what the post was and my actual comment. My meaning, if you legitimately read what I had to say, was a sarcastic note of, “Oh, well, LGBTQ* people, the oppression you face daily doesn’t exist if you have internet!” If you had even BOTHERED to read the post for what it was rather than wanting to lash out on a comment you clearly missed the memo on, or to look further into my blog, you would know that I identify as Queer, and make it a HUGE point not to leave others out.
If I had said something wrong, I would be very appreciative of you calling me out on it as I make it a constant and near annoying point to check myself on my privileges and prejudices, or mere ignorance. However, this was YOUR ignorance anon. Go back and read it again, go do some research. Kthxbaiii.
(Don’t worry, I accept the apology you should be giving me.)
