𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓪, 𝒩𝓊𝑒𝓈𝓉𝓇𝒶 𝑀𝒶𝒹𝓇𝑒 𝐹𝓁𝑜𝓇𝑒𝒸𝒾𝒹𝒶. ♡ ♡ ♡ I haven't done too much with my OC as I would have wished, but Serratia is my pink pastel dragon girl that exists in my World™ as an unexpected altruistic protector of mortals. While she does this primarily to protect her elaborate gardens, she cannot deny that she has slowly become fond of these frail beings. As time passed, her heroism inspired the absolute faith and loyalty from many young women who chose to follow wherever she goes. A matriarchal society rose from small covens, and from this, elaborate cities woven into the beautiful natural landscape under the protection of their goddess. ♡ ♡ ♡
Serratia initially did not care for the worship and praise from these mortals, after all she did not seek to be treated as a goddess. Though her existence was that of isolation as she was uniquely protective of these mortals unlike her immortal kin. Thus she began to slowly allow these mortals into her life, into her heart. She outlived them all but she was bestowed with the privilege to see generations of mortals flourish. She observed them make mistakes but she also witnessed them love and flourish and treat others with compassion and change and learn. Characteristics unlike her immortal kin.

I have written a short bio about one of my most beloved OCs, Serratia!
This is my OC Serratia! She is a pink pastel dragon girl who has found peace with her draconic nature and lives amongst mortals.
Serratia travels around her world in search of areas to establish gardens of her own. Her fascination with flora is what brings her contentment throughout her immortal life, especially so as she finds new specimen to observe and document. Observers consider her a protector of nature although Serratia views her gardening as an artistic expression of herself.
Her passion for flora has allowed her to open up to mortals who share her passion and tend to her gardens when she is not present. Serratia has established bonds with these mortals, eventually forming a coven of dedicated followers of whom she is deeply invested in, protecting them from all sorts of dangers and offering them safety and shelter.
While her appearance, sympathy & compassion towards mortals may make her appear soft, Serratia is a splendid sword fighter. She can control her true draconic form while in her human form to deliver swift attacks backed by the weight of a dragon. Her enchanted sword causes anyone pierced by it to violently erupt into vines and roses, making any foe in her path now part of her garden.
Serratia may be the most compassionate immortal that you may meet, but her behavior and tone still come off as very cold and condescending. She is rather cynical and socially inept, despite her best efforts to become a better person. She acknowledges the value of mortal lives but feels a futility in attaching herself to those she will outlive.

[OC] Serratia WIP
I feel way more confident coming back to this WIP without feeling stuck or like my art skill has stagnated. I really gotta develop her more as a character. I've imagined entire music video scenes with her after listening to Florence and the Machine but I'm so reluctant to share lore about her in case I change my mind aaa
Pic of the Day: Serratia marcescens Serratia marcescensgrown on TSA for 48 hrs. at 37 degree's C then held at room temp for 24 hrs. Serratia marcescens is circular, mucoid and has a red to orange pigment due to the production of prodigiosin. Usually the red coloration dose best at reduced temperatures so after initial grown at 37 degree I will hold the plate at room temperature for 24 hrs to develop the intense red coloration. Ryan Returns Home from ICU
Ryan was discharged — directly from the ICU — and is now at home. We were fortunate to get out when we did because our area is getting quite the progression of precipitation: freezing rain, sleet, ice, and then snow.
Ryan gets his IV antibiotic this morning.
Over the next 14 days I must give him a strong (and somewhat uncommon) antibiotic intravenously. It is for the bacteria, serratia, that…
