Today I had a lovely guest provide me his Trump card and asked if there is a discount for it... I fake giggled it off and said I would go check with a manager, walked to the back, paused, and then walked back out to the table. What I said- "Unfortunately, Sir, this does not constitute for a discount. The total is still *shows him the bill* and may I run the card for that total?" He asked me what I think of the card (while his wife was hiding behind her hand and trying to quickly gather the kids and get their jackets on) and I said, "While I would love to get into an discussion with you, while I'm on the clock, I am a BJ's server and remain neutral and must be getting to running your card." *polite smile and exit*.
