You’ll admit, you’re nervous. But it’s easy to fall into a comfortable silence, with Innovator curled at your side engrossed in whatever it is, exactly, he’s reading. You’ve been looking through an accounts manifesto from one of your many perfectly legitimate businesses, not because you suspect anything but because it’s good to keep your employees on their toes.

And you make sure to read every line of it, because you never do things by halves.

You’re broken from your rather dry read when Inny shifts against you, and you’re suddenly aware of the three hours that have passed. You check your watch and consider the time.

“Hey, mind if I shift for a bit? Should start making the pasta.”
