SAM REF 3: THE THREEQUEL.

This started as a straightforward redo of her previous ref that was meant to just serve to establish a consistent idea of her exact body shape (she'd been trending towards a larger belly entirely because the original ref didn't have a good non straight on angle of it.) and establish some extra outfits.

Naturally some design minor tweaks and extra details snuck there way in there too...and then the hair happened.

Basically, i looked at the original Sam design again in some art that had been drawn by a good friend years and years ago that had only been abandoned because i lacked the artistic skill to draw a side shave consistently. I realized as i was looking at it again that that version of Sam was still the one that i pictured in my head. The hair vents thing had never managed to truly stick within in the mind palace. It was too generic, at least for Sam.

So, fuck it, i brought back the original hair on the new body and face design and then merged in the main element of the ponytail braid i did like, that being the bang between the eyes.

AND VOILA, here we are. this one was kind of an ordeal for a variety of factors with multiple redraws. I am ultimately happy with it, at least. I experimented a lot with blending in colors for skin and hair tones and then threw on both a tonal and color correction layer on top for the hell of it. That last part may not have been the best decision given i had had rum and sleeping pills in the course of painting this...oh well!!

POV: The Self Proclaimed "Cringe Fail Girl" Tries To Talk To You at Your Big Pool Party But Is Too Nervous And Her Much More Confident Big Sister Has Arrived to Save Her.

So yeah, introducing a new character named Ronny! She's Sam's younger sister, somewhere around 18-19, that I've had kicking around for ages but only just now gave a face too. Arguably there are three characters here since the POV character is Ronny's girlfriend, Karina, who will also be getting drawn soon once i get her design down. They're both holding energy drinks for the record, the two have an unhealthy caffeine addiction.

Fun Fact I'm like 80% sure I haven't posted here: Sam is an in universe internet gun personality…largely by accident. Her sister started and runs all her social media without consulting her. Sam only takes part in posing for pictures or talking to the camera occasionally, as well as answering any clarifying questions her sister has about her actions that then get edited into the video as captions.

It's like 90% just helmet cam footage and the occasional handheld camera of her routine training and drills with The Group with all the really classified stuff and identifying details edited out.

At least on the public internet, anyway! If you're a part of the underground secret world of the paranormal and otherwise anomalous you know how to access the secret content feeds where you can see actual, still heavily edited, footage from ops, bodies and all. Sam tries not to think about the fact there's hours of video of her committing extrajudicial killings and monster hunting publicly available.

Sam is a character who, if she was a streamer, would do insanely well but has no social media and barely knows how to use her phone beyond text and calls. Her sister streams with a facecam and her chat goes fucking insane everytime Sam appears in the background both because horny for the monstrously thick shortstack but also because she's just effortlessly charismatic.

For clarification, the only reason Sam's ref has the weight redacted while no other characters ref bothers to even mention one is because it's a gag.

Sam's body is technically a literal anomaly, a physically impossible manifestation of her idealized dream self. Despite now being 5 foot nothing and having hips and an ass that could wedge her in a smaller doorway, underneath that she still has the muscle mass and ability of her previous 6 foot 1 wall of muscle self. So whatever her weight actually is is not accurately reflected in her body is redacted for comedic effect.

Just realized Ronny, Sam's younger sister, has canonically only ever dated the wealthiest, most popular girl in her school and then later the not-tiktok influencer minor e-celeb of a Zelepukhovian oligarch.

Laying it out like this we can observe two things: Not only does Ronny clearly have a type, but apparently stereotypically attractive rich lesbians find this unkempt internet goblin utterly irresistible.

I need it to be know that while yes, Sam is my hee hee ho ho hyper hips shortstack oc she is also canonically a highly trained special forces Operative. She's so scarily effective she's been categorized as "hyperlethal" In official government documentation and has been investigated to determine if she was actually some kind of genetically anomalous super soldier.

This one was mostly an abandoned wip that i turned into a bit of an experiment with how i draw Hips. I'd actually call it very successful! The body felt a lot more cohesive coming together than the other methods I've been using and moving from skeleton to shapes to actual character drawing was a much faster process overall. Gonna put what other thoughts I had during this under a cut.

I also got weird with the background, it was initially just gonna be this sorta pseudo art nouveau circle but then i didn't want to actually color and it felt empty so i tried haphazardly traced a doorframe and then just said screw it and smashed them together. It's cludged but good enough.

As for problems I think this has, honestly it's the head? It's off in more than a few ways but I also kinda quickly hammered it out to get it moving along. It serves the job well enough for what this is meant to be.
