#I’m not saying it’s mob boss Bucky but it is

Yeah. Everyone is miserable. I got a really shitty ask last weekend from a steggy fan about sharon (also called me the c word - nice) and spoiled me for the ending while also just being really rotten. I wanted to be really angry, but I just hate ship war nonsense and decided I'd get over it by being happy for the gang who were decent after civil war. I think fandom would do a lot better if canon ships stopping being so shitty to non-canon and vice versa.

It gets treated like a zero sum situation and it isn't. But maybe that's just the multishipper in me. Anyway, you were always very decent about ships and I genuinely thought of you and the others when I saw the scene... so I'm glad this makes you happy.

Omg I forgot to mention... by badly executed I just meant the time travel complete lack of logic given how they explained the rest of how it was supposed to work. Yikes sorry didn't mean anything else by it.
Okay, I fell asleep before any of these came in, sorry for the delay! Here’s my long pre-coffee response:
A of all, what the fuck, why can’t people keep themselves out of peoples ask boxes if they’re not going to be civil? I’m so sorry that person spoiled the ending for you WHILE being a major jerk and trying to diminish you as a person, that makes me so angry.
B. Your level-headed approach to fandom is one of the very many things I admire about you, @sevensneakyfoxes. I try to avoid the small handful of folks out there who like to cause a ruckus after every film (but it’s been tough on this one, since a lot of that ruckus is happening in one of my ship tags). It’s fun to get caught up in what we’re passionate about, I wouldn’t be in fandom if this wasn’t the case for me! But, for me, there’s no use fighting over ships because the sandbox is in fact infinite, and there’s room for all of us. The ship I write (though, like my header says, I’ll ship Steve with pretty much anyone) was canon but until this movie it was really just Steve’s tragic backstory, and I was perfectly happy to see other people imagine him happy with lots of other people, you know? I mean, I’m also just not the sort of person to fight about this shit, but I do sometimes think that Steggy not being endgame canon until the 22nd movie has helped me develop more equanimity about the whole thing? I can’t speak for the others (who are also super awesome humans who don’t waste time fighting about this shit, imho) but that’s where I’m coming from.
C. I’m with you on the time-travel. (And there are some pretty big things about the movie that do not sit well with me, but I try to keep stuff positive.) I would have been more comfortable with an in-canon explanation for it, but since we didn’t get that, I guess I’ll just have to read dozens of attempts at explaining it in fic. Oh no, I’m so sad about that. /s

THAT’S RIGHT! PROFESSIONALISM IS HAVING A BAD INTERVIEW BECAUSE PEOPLE DON’T CARE FOR YOUR SHIT AND THEN STARTING RUMOURS ON THE INTERNET LIKE A THIRTEEN YEAR OLD! PROFESSSSSSIONALISMMMM
I’m going to be honest here, this dude is absolutely being unprofessional as hell, and these were dumb fucking tweets for him to make if he wants to be taken seriously, but in the absence of enough interviews to sustain me in the week leading up to this movie coming out, I will take unsubstantiated gossip that leads to more rumors, because it’s distracting me from the existential terror of characters I care about being on the verge of maybe dying this Thursday.

ps: WHAT SONG REMINDS YOU OF ME!????!!!
Are these self-portraits of @sevensneakyfoxes?
Sharon/Steve
vomit / don’t ship / okay / cute / adorable / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
I’ve changed my tune on these two over the years. When I first joined MCU fandom I did not ship this at all. Once all the Sharon bashing began and the gross hypocrisy spread throughout fandom, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I began to defend her out of spite. Then I read fic by @hardboiledmeggs that was so amazing (like everything she writes) I decided these two really could be great together. They’re not OTP status for me, but I do like them.
Not me going back down the hill fury and associates rabbit hole at 5 o’clock in the morning. Reminder that this is perfection and any and all new content if you or sevensneakyfoxes have the inspiration is more than welcome bc it’s a work of art
Thanks! 😊 It's always good to know we're not the only ones obsessed with annoying Maria Hill 😂
There's nothing in the works for that universe currently, but you never know when inspiration strikes and I find new graceful ways of manipulating @sevensneakyfoxes to write for it 😎
"Well, Miss Kate Broker, it seems someone actually knows you, despite your fake identity."
Sharon tilted her head to the side, but remained as unbothered as she was three hours ago when the deputy locked her inside the cell. In her short black dress, sparkling high heels and with bruised knuckles.
It was one of those small stations people thought exist only in tv shows, with equally stereotypical sheriffs.
She forgot how comical in their hunting instinct local law enforcement went when someone unknown appeared in the area, especially if that someone had a witty mouth on them like she did. And a mean fist which resulted in the arrest.
But Sharon wasn't unknown.
If she revealed her real name, their positions would be reversed. She'd walk away with her pretty, gold stilettos and the guy who tried to grope her would sit in this very cell.
The quiet enjoyment of the evening would be lost, however. A family reunion she avoided for years ruining her anonymous escapade.
"Do they?" Sharon hummed, watching deputy Ross smile at his little victory.
Locals tended to know and remember everything about everyone, but it's been eight years since she set foot in the state. That's also why she made a deliberate choice to drink away the sudden homesick frustration at a bar in one of the outskirt towns where the name Carter was known, but not attached to a face.
It wasn't Ross who replied to her. A familiar, though nearly forgotten rasp mocked her.
"Next time I suggest forging a new fake identity instead of using the one you bought at sixteen to buy booze."
Sharon's spine almost snapped with how fast she stood up. Her grip on her sparkling gold shoes tightened. She could hit him with one, the space between the bars was wide enough to aim easily.
Bucky Barnes in all his rugged cowboy glory (which Sharon spent years mockin; fucking people who were complete opposites from the men she grew around). He walked forward, bracing his arms on the cell bars as he looked her over.
"Fancy shoes." He smirked. "You planned on walking in them through the mud on eastern pastures?"
"I figured you were up to more trouble than only at Luis' bar-" Deputy Ross chimed in before Sharon retorted Bucky's comment- "So I called Rogers' Ranch to check if you weren't one of their problems."
"It's Carter-Rogers!" Sharon snapped.
It used to be Carters only. A long time ago, when Sharon and Peggy were teens in love with fields and horses, oblivious to the mess their father got the ranch into. A kind of mess that ends only in the worst way.
With their father's dead body found in the river at the edge of the property - A tragic fall from a horse, the coroner has said; they knew better, as they knew to keep their mouths shut - and Peggy having to step up and salvage it all by signing a deal with the devil.
Maybe Steve Rogers wasn't as evil as Sharon liked to claim (he had more sweet charm than Barnes and a wide fan of charities), but she knew the sudden prosperity and expansion of the ranch didn't come just from the new breed of cattle he brought in.
She never understood how Peggy could sleep with a man like that. Apparently it had to be quite good, considering Sharon had two nephews now.
"You know it still is Carter-Rogers." Bucky spoke calmly.
It made Sharon want to spat at him all the more for treating her like a spooked mare to tame.
“And you’re still the hand that deals with all problems?”
Bucky had a way with animals, but it wasn’t the sole reason he became the main hand on the ranch; it was the other sort of difficulties he solved that gained him the position and reputation.
The first year she spent away, refusing to come back at any of her sister’s calls, Sharon expected Bucky to suddenly appear and take her back. As much as it was a relief they didn’t force her, a part of her felt heartbroken he never came.
“I’m to deal with you, sugar.” He opened the cell (Sharon didn’t want to know why he had the key to it as if he owned it) and motioned for her to come out.
She didn’t move.
Bucky nudged the brim of his dark Stetson up, shifting the shadow it cast across his face so now she clearly saw the blue of his eyes.
“You either walk out, or I carry you out. I don’t have a preference. Do you?”
There was that smirk curving the corner of his mouth which she used to like so much in the past. Back when she still got weak in the knees for Bucky.
Sharon wasn’t that girl anymore. Though she didn’t want to find out how her body would react if he scooped her up. Some chapters were better left closed.
a little something Bucky/Sharon for @sevensneakyfoxes to make the crappy days better for a few minutes
