PET Scan...

I have my first post-treatment PET scan this Friday (Dec. 7th), wish me luck.

I hate PET scans... and I super hate the thought of them finding more sneaky little cancerous bastards somewhere in there :(.

Been super miserable lately because I'm in the midst of a very painful body-wide psoriasis flare up. It's everywhere, and spreading. My back/neck is just one solid patch, and there are angry red blotches all over my limbs, my chest, and even my freaking FACE.

I went to the rheumatologist last week, and was told that they really don't want to medicate me because all the medications can cause cancer. SIGH.

I'm in a lot of pain and look scary and feel awful and can't really focus on much else because my skin is constantly screaming at me.

Honestly, cancer treatment was way easier to deal with on a day to day basis than this crap is.  At least with the cancer treatment they are willing to give you anxiety and pain drugs to help with any side effects- I get nothing for the psoriasis. I was prescribed a tub of steroid cream to smear on twice a day, after being told that steroids really just end up making things worse in the long run. I'm desperate, though, so I'll use it.

I'm waiting for an appointment on December 12th with a new dermatology group, where they apparently have a 'light box'... hopefully that will help. On that same day, in the morning, I go to my cancer center to find out my PET scan results.

I hope, somehow, that turns out to be a good day.
