Thanks! It’s the whole family brunch we’ll be missing if he’s not better. He’s not so sick that we couldn’t go but my BIL is immunosuppressed so as a rule, if you’re sick, you stay home. :/ We’ll still have our own little celebration at home or maybe go out ourselves so it’s all good. Just a little sad. It’s a good thing we ended up changing his birthday celebration to a different day because our original plan was just to have everyone over for cake after brunch.

Also, I hope your little potato is feeling better soon. (Also, what’re the chances you guys and we both call our little ones Potato????)

Rosehip, Ice, and Turkish teas

Rosehip tea: Which book did you love when you were younger?

Harry Potter is the easy and obvious answer but it’s the series I remember most from childhood. It’s not the literary masterpiece don’t have built it up to be but that doesn’t diminish its impact or significance.

Ice tea: Do you miss somebody? Why?

I miss a lot of people because I moved out of state ten years ago and don’t get to see a lot of people I love and care about. I miss the person I thought my dad was when I was a child. I miss my childhood best friend even though I can see now that our friendship was built on proximity to one another more than it was on commonalities that could withstand the test of time.

Turkish tea: What is your favourite cake?

Ice cream cake. Though I do love regular cake too.

I fixed my computer that I broke a month ago. (It’s a lot easier to open up something when it doesn’t matter if you break it or not because you’ve replaced it already.) So now that I have two working computers, I’m taking the opportunity to get my many CDs put into itunes. I didn’t care about it when I first got my old laptop because I had everything on my mp3 player. When that broke I kept telling myself I’d get to it but never did because I’m the queen of procrastinating. Now that I’m doing it, I’ve realized how much music I have that I still love even though I haven’t listened to it in years. But I’m that person who can’t, like, only put some of the songs on my devices. Even though I typically skip like half of my music, I always want it there in case I want to listen to it sometime. And every so often I do. But it feels unnecessary since there’s so much I don’t listen to most of the time. It’s like the packrat in me is constantly arguing with the minimalist in me and the packrat always wins.

The juices are the business! I also used to love using the Whipped Pudding on my hair after washing. It would be so soft. I can't use it on my hair anymore, because locs, but I've used it as a lotion for years. Before locs, I would occasionally use Whipped Shea on my hair to seal it during the winter.

I’m really digging them, Frank Juice especially, and am so far so good so that makes me happy. I’ll have to remember those tips. I got a full sized whipped pudding this time so I’ll def give that a go and the tips on the pomade sound promising

Have you tried Oyin Handmade? I think their conditioner and moisturizers are pretty good. I have locs now so I can’t use a lot of their heavier products, but before I had locs I thought their butters were good as well.

@sewinbuttons Do you live somewhere that you can get honeycrisp apples at the peak of season, locally fresh? Because that's when they are best and in that case, the hype is pretty warranted. Otherwise, they're still good but not worth the hype.

This has been on my mind since "Mommie Dearest." Do Carmilla and Laura ever discuss what happened with Angela? It came up a little in this latest update, but it still seemed they hadn't really discussed it. When I initially read Mommie Dearest I was frustrated with how both acted, though both were justified (though I was a bit more sympathetic to Carm). Do they ever discuss Laura's severe distancing, and Carmilla's clear insecurity about being left in general? I assumed they'd have to...?

Oh they definitely do!  They talk about it a few days after it happens and everything is settled.  I think the distancing even surprised Laura herself and had Angela not said “I had been hoping..>” as some form of reconciliation, I don’t think Laura would have reacted as such.  But they definitely address it and talk about it and promise to work toward being more open with one another about what is going on.  Though Laura still withholds in Red Light...but it’s a learning curve!

i love the idea of pregnant carmilla. you mentioned in a recent ask that carmilla's never thought of being pregnant, but isn't opposed. so, my apologies if you've answered this before, or if i missed some detail in the story, but did elle carry jaime? or is it that carmilla carried jaime, and it's just that she hasn't thought about being pregnant again?

Hey my friend, no worries!  Ell carried Jaime but they used Carmilla’s egg.
