So this is a little different project than my usuals. I bought some sewign paper (you know, a paper you can sew, wash, is said to look like leather) and decided to give it a try in a simple project - it’s a thing to have a safe larping sword hanging on my belt instead of having it “inside” the belt, because it hurts hips and is uncomfortable. I know it’s a little crooked and I still have problems with eyelets, but for a first try it’s okay. I’ll test if it’s durable and if so I might try to make arm guards.

Sewing paper

To sew your quilting design onto the finished patchwork , one method is to use sewing paper and sew over it.  When doing this, use  a sharp size 12 needle. Paper can dull needles, so change yours often for smooth stitching. I quilt by hand but if you do this by machine, then you need to keep the machine set at 10 stitches to the inch so it can show up but not pull.
