Not the first project from last week’s pile that was finished, but the first I took pictures of. I had an old denim vest that fit a little too close to my armpits, but I still really liked it. So instead of getting rid of it, I cut the side seams and added some purple canvas to it. Then I sewed a couple of patches to the back, the @tmbgofficial one I’d been meaning to sew onto something for a while and the @bobsburgersfox one I completely forgot I had until I pulled the records out a couple weeks ago and found it in the box with them. The patches on the front (Mickey, the happy circle with a rainbow, and the pink flower) were already on there when I bought it. I then dug out my pins from my jewelry box and took some down from an old lanyard I had them hanging on. There’s another TMBG pin and a guitar and peace sign keychain from an old Unfabulous skirt. The @looneytunes Tweety Bird one is so old it just has a safety-pin instead of the original pin. The Stitch, donut cat, and @nathanwpylestrangeplanet being are all from @hottopic a few years ago. The rose came with an online order a few years back, but I forget from who. There’s a tiny @peanutsmovie pin in there, and a coffee pin from @designercon years ago, back when it was still in Pasadena. The rest (yellow peace signs with pink backgrounds, blue pin with yellow “I’m awesome”, white pin with multicolored repeating hearts pattern) are all from old vests I wore continually from 2003-2009. Unlike back then, I have no plans of wearing this vest anytime soon, because it’s far too hot out to be wearing an extra layer. But this will definitely be getting some wear if we ever actually make it to fall/winter weather.
