ur so right omg, the way they would randomly just make him do the most out of character shit (propose????) not just for his character but for him around her (it all just felt so forced the way they where clearly trying to keep him “rafe” but adding but also make him seem in love? they went about it the wrong way im so sorry cos to me it just seems like with the way he ignores and disrespects her where they clearly meant it come across as his messed up way of loving… it just feels like he doesn’t care. they had the opportunity to make them so deep, she could’ve challenged him, taught him not everyone’s gonna take his shit, but the way they went about it just looks like she doesn’t matter to him at all (cos she doesn’t lol)) the way they would make him just not gaf to stay in character and then make him do big romantic gestures out of nowhere was so forced im actually sobbing. idk but their ship actually enrages me so maybe im pulling this out of nowhere cos i feel like that about jjiara too so maybe my brain just picks and chooses what to hate for no reason

if they get married you and end up together u will never here from me ever again for so many reasons. i said a while ago when i was bothering u in ur asks (🙂‍↕️) that i could write a whole ass paragraph about why they shouldn’t get married and how there’s so many reasons i never got round to it cos i forgot but i really wanna unpack it soon cos it’s like scratching at my brain

my mom used to tell me that the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. she mostly said this because, as a teenager, i said i hated a lot of people and she was calling me out for my obsession—but it applies to rafe. he does have a messed-up way of loving, and it’s possessiveness, shouting, hypersensitivity. it ain’t pretty, but it’s what we have to work with. yknow what the opposite of rafe’s love looks like? aloof. dismissive. indifferent…

it just caused a pang in my chest when i saw multiple people insist that rafe’s notably out-of-character behavior around his girlfriend was indicative of some softer side inside him. he has one, but it doesn’t cause him to suddenly turn into prince charming (it really just turns him into a babbling, teary-eyed mess, which we don’t get with her). the idea of young people viewing the relationship that way… something something canon event

This well crafted lamp has entrancingly organic shapes and a warm, welcoming glow. 

Creatures that see it must succeed a DC15 Will save or stare at it continuously, as with the spell Lock Gaze. Every 10 minutes a staring creature gets another save with a cumulative +1 bonus to break the enchantment. Creatures who succeed their save do not need to make it again for another 24 hours. A creature gets an additional save when jostled or disturbed by an outside force, such as an enemy’s attack or the aid of an ally. 

Additionally the lamp may sometimes choose a mature being with intelligence 3 or higher who is either romantically available or unfaithful to their current spouse as their “seduced”, as a permanent Charm Monster. The creature gets a DC18 Will save to avoid this effect, and, once a day, may gain an additional save at a -2 penalty when an ally explains to them that the lamp is merely a very nice lamp and not a person. This effect can not be dispelled by Dispel Magic but can be broken by Break Enchantment.

The seduced perceives the lamp to be of great romantic value and attempts to woo it, slowly going through the motions of “meeting”, “asking out”, “dating”, and even trying to “marry” the lamp if the enchantment is not broken. If the lamp is moved or taken by another, the seduced will often go to great lengths to “rescue” the lamp, treating it as though their spouse or a particularly attractive person had been abducted. Similarly, when another person is seduced by the lamp, they may act as the cunning and cruel kidnapper who steals it and tries to make it their love. 

The lamp, when turned on, also emits light like a torch.

Here’s my biggest season 3 complaint! I'm disappointed in the handling of the Sparrow Academy! The entire advertising was all about them, like who they are, what there powers were and shit! By episode 3, 3 of them were dead! And two of those 3 had the most interesting powers which were barely explained! And obviously we got absolutely no development of them, very little personality beyond surface traits! Of who we have remaining, bird lady who could have been cool but mostly was just whining at Ben, the cube that doesn't speak English so don't get much from him, and they both die! Then we have Sloane who is a sexy lamp for Luther, and Ben who gets some development but is also the only Sparrow who already was a character in the show!

There's too many stories about men getting the woman at the end of the story as his prize, as his happy ending. Very sexy lamp territory.
