Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride, and Brian Blade’s new album, ‘LongGone,’ is out now! "Musical soulmates reunite to stunning effect," says the Guardian, naming LongGone its Jazz Album of the Month. You can get it and hear it here.
In 1994, the original Joshua Redman Quartet released MoodSwing, an instant classic that helped launch each member’s career as a leader. The members of the quartet reunited for the critically acclaimed album RoundAgain in 2020 and now for a new album, LongGone, featuring original Redman compositions from the RoundAgain recording sessions, plus a live performance of the MoodSwing track "Rejoice," captured by SFJAZZ at the San Francisco Jazz Festival.

Reggie Workman Interview
Richard Scheinin has conducted an in-depth interview with Reggie Workman on the accasion of his being named a 2020 NEA Jazz Master. Reggie is brilliant, inventive bassist with a big, rich sound. As a person, he is a calm, gentle, unassuming man who has dedicated much of his professional life to teaching, a role he takes very seriously. Enjoy this portrait of an extraordinary musician.

Still Unclassifiable
Dear Listeners... My latest recording “Snowmelt” is out and about everywhere now (Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, etc). It enjoyed some time in the #1 spot on iTunes and in the Billboard classical top 10. Just like last time, any success my music has out in the world is not due to marketing and publicity, it is thanks to YOU and the way you tell other people about it. So thank you!
(Should be said though, informing people who ALREADY listen to my music that I have something new…. is a whole new kind of challenge in 2018. More about that later.)
I don’t really belong in that classical bucket, but where do I belong? I like the way Joshua Kosman described my music in the SF Chronicle this week:
"The sound of a single cello, looped and processed through a laptop computer, becomes a world of hypnotic possibilities in the work of composer-performer Zoë Keating. Ghostly and fluid, with a range of expressive nuances, her music lives in an unclassifiable border region between classical, ambient and pop.”
I admit that after all these years I’m proud to know my music remains “unclassifiable” ;-)
I also did an interview on Vermont Public Radio about my move to Vermont and my new recording. I’ll be in San Francisco next week for four concerts at SFJazz. I will scribble on your copy of Snowmelt if you so desire ;-)

This evening I went with my two jazz-loving parents to see Chris Potter at SFJAZZ. Often times my mother will take me and my father to see jazz, but tonight I was taking them. I’ve been interested in seeing Chris Potter for a while. I think I first became aware of him through Snarky Puppy’s social media account which reposted a video of him playing.
