Kakunoshin Ohta wants to make his dream a reality!the 26 year old Japanese driver got his first test in an Indycar with Meyer Shank Racing Wednesday, October 1st in Mid-Ohio.

Ohta already has strong ties with the team, as he was contracted to drive 3 races in their IMSA GTP car, number 93 MSR Acura alongside teammates Alex Palou, Nick Yelloly, and Renger Van der Zande. He made his GTP IMSA debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona in January, and came back for Watkins Glen's Six Hours of the Glen in New York and Battle on the Bricks in Indianapolis. He also had two stints in an LMP2 car in Sebring 12 Hours and Road America in Wisconsin. He was racing with Era Motorsport, #18 with Tobias Lütke.

Ohta is currently a top championship contender and favorite for the title in Super Formula in only his third year in the championship, after having won a race in his maiden year (thus scrambling up the championship for Liam that year). Super Formula is a prestigious open wheeled racing competition held in Japan. The likes of Liam Lawson Pierre Gasly, Alex Palou, Felix Rosenqvist, and others have come from the series. It is second fastest to F1, meeting the same top speeds but inability to hold them as long due to car aerodynamics. He drives the #6 for Docomo Dandelion alongside teammate Tadasuke Makino, another championship contender, who drives the #5.

Ohta chose to leave behind his spot in the #17 Astemo Real car in Super GT this year to pursue his endeavors in America.

Please root for him to win the championship in Super Formula this year, and for him to obtain another IMSA contract next year, as well as a seat in Indycar, his dream come true, in the coming few years. 🩷
