It's All About That K.

Kaufman Stadium, or the K in Kansas City, is known for the huge fountains beyond the outfield walls – The Royals poured it on the Giants like a perpetual fountain in the 6th inning of Game 2.  Locked in a 2-2 tie after the starting pitchers had staged a formidable duel, San Francisco’s bullpen blinked first giving up a single, a walk, an RBI Single, a 2 RBI double and ultimately a 2-run home run to Omar Infante.  The 5-run bottom frame was just the breakout the home crowd had been waiting for through 14 innings of this World Series.

The 7-2 Royals win ties the series at 1-1 as the teams head to San Francisco for games 3-4-5 over the weekend (Friday-Sunday).  Home-field advantage has been debated in the World Series because of the 2-3-2 format that often results in the Game 1 & 2 home team, never returning home.  With each team only needing 3 more wins to clinch the Championship, it’s conceivable that the Giants sweep the next 3 at home – like they did in the NLCS to send the Cardinals packing. 

AT&T Park in San Francisco largely favors pitchers (6th most pitcher friendly) compared to The K, which is the 11th most hitter friendly park in MLB.
