The starting lineup was voted on by the fans (other than injury replacements) and features some of the biggest stars in all of baseball. In the American League, keep an eye on perennial All-Star Mike Trout, who is coming off of back-to-back All-Star Game MVP performances. Also, if youâre a fan of the swan song, select David Ortiz, who could be playing in his final All-Star game (assuming he does retire at the end of the season).
In the National League, the designated DH in Wil Myers is a popular pick due to the fact the game is at Petco Park, where he plies his trade for the San Diego Padres. Keep an eye on the young guns in Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant, who could look to one-up each other on the national stage.
The American League reserves are as follows:
·     Cather: Stephen Vogt, Athletics (30pts); Matt Wieters, Orioles (5pts)
·     1B: Miguel Cabrera, Tigers (10pts)
·     2B: Robinson Cano, Mariners (25pts)
·     3B: Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays (30pts)

The National League reserves are as follows:

Unlike games during the regular season, if you select a bench player for this game, you will not be assigned an alternate, as all players will see the field and typically get one or two at-bats. If youâre looking at the American League, consider taking a flyer on Miguel Cabrera, who is one of the greatest hitters of the modern era, and comes in at an economical 10 points. If youâre looking to spend big on the American League, all signs point towards selecting reigning MVP Josh Donaldson or home-run leader Mark Trumbo.
In the National League, there is an abundance of talent across the board. The economical pick that could set you apart is Adam Duvall at 10 points, who has come out of nowhere this season to be an All-Star. If you are looking to break the bank for the National League, take a flyer on Nolan Arenado, who has put together a very strong offensive season in the thin air of Colorado.
