PSA: Next Week’s VP

So this year’s Anniversary Viewing of Whispers was fun as always! And we, the mods and our regulars, all hope to see many more to come! You are all welcome to join!

Regarding next week’s VP. Since last week was SGA’s turn, the next viewing would have been SGU. However, we (or at least I) were made aware of the fact, that 28th of October is Stargate Day, because on this day, back in 1994, Roland Emmerich’s Stargate was released (pls ignore part of my reply. I already though we were in Novemer!). So to make up for missing out the actual Stargate Day, we’ll be watching the movie next sunday, same time, same place. Keep an eye out for the promo.

Hey there! Just wanted to give you a heads-up that we're gonna watch Whispers on Octobier 27th.

SWEET. I actually have that weekend off work so I should actually be around to watch it with y’all.

To those of you not aware... The SG:VP started with a viewing of the Stargate Atlantis episode “Whispers” for Halloween a few years ago. Looks like it’s become a tradition to which ANYONE is invited!

On the 27th of July 1997, the first episode of Stargate SG-1 aired on Showtime. An expansion and continuation of the 1994 movie, the series itself ran for 10 years, 10 series and 2 feature-long episodes. 20 years, two spin off series and a recently announced prequel on its way is proof of the series’ enduring appeal and the longevity that sci-fi enjoys. Though team members and actors came and went, we were always happy and eager to follow our Stargate teams through each and every wormhole to new worlds and backed them with every enemy they faced.

In honour of this milestone, this week’s SG:VP takes the series back to the start. On Saturday 29th of July, we’ll be showing Children of the Gods in its entirety and you’re more than welcome to join us.

The SG:VP celebrates its 2nd anniversary this year and, as has become tradition, we celebrate the first ever viewing party that took place for Halloween in 2015 with a showing of Stargate Atlantis’ spooky, could’ve-been-a-horror-film episode, Whispers.

SG:VP... THE RETURN

After an absence of sorts over the summer while a lot of the regulars were off doing ridiculous things like going outside and being around people, the SG:VPs are coming back and will (hopefully) continue through the autumn and winter to get us through the long, cold Saturday nights (or simply as long as there’s interest!)

Hopefully we’ll make a return on the 23rd of September but in order to get ready for then, we’re gonna need you to help us get our shit together. This means helping pick an episode!

SG-1, SGA... If you’ve got an episode you wouldn’t mind watching and talking about with other fans and VP attendees, reply, reblog or send a carrier pigeon. We’ll get a shortlist going, get a consensus and get back on track.

Whatever tickles your pickle, just shout! Let’s get this going again!
