Your dream began to fade from memory as soon as your eyes fluttered open. You were unsure of what woke you, until you felt a pair of lips press against the side of your head. Turning over slightly, you see Jack's face appear above you.
He smiled softly "There you are."
You smiled in return at him and you turned over completely to face him "Morning" You said softly.
Jack had his head rested on his hand as he was propped up next to you in the bed. Using his other hand, he reached over and stroked the side of your face "Happy birthday."
You smiled again at him, having forgotten what day it was. Stretching slightly, you sighed out "Ohhh, if only I didn't have to work." You said with slight disappointment.
Jack smiled lightly at you, feeling disappointed for you, running his fingers across your cheek he leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to your lips before pulling away "Well, at least we have right now." He said before he moved to get up. You watched him curiously as he moved towards the door, turning he pointed at you "Stay there."
You sat up against the bed frame and waited, hearing a few bumps and noises from the kitchen, as the air from outside lingered in, you suddenly smelled the familiar scent of bacon and coffee.
Footsteps returned down the hall and towards the room. Jack slid in sideways, in his and a large tray full of various breakfast foods. Eggs, bacon, waffles, and some fruit on the side, as well as two cups of coffee.
You grinned at the sight as Jack came to sit next to you in the bed, setting the large tray between both of you. Jack reached onto the tray, grabbing a single pale yellow rose you knew he got from the garden. Handing it to you he smiled lightly at you "Happy Birthday Y/n."
You took it with a cheerful smile before leaning forward and kissing Jack on the cheek "Thank you Jack, you didn't have to do this."
He shook his head a bit "Of course I did. We gotta work on your birthday, so it didn't seem right to do nothing. At least this, I could do. I wanted to. I love you."
Even after being with Jack for a few years now, your hear hammered in your chest every time he said those words. You reached up and placed your hand on his cheek "I love you too Jack."
Leaning in your kissed briefly before Jack sat up a bit more "Now let's eat before Hammond calls us in for being late."
You looked at him with confusion before looking over at the clock seeing that you woke up much later tan normal "Jack!" You said incredulously.
"What?" He asked feigning innocence "You deserve to sleep in on your birthday.
You rolled your eyes a bit but laughed, gently leaning your head on his shoulder for a moment before grabbing a piece of bacon from the tray.
