Here's some of my photos of the Stargate convention in Chicago from this weekend! It was such a great weekend. Definitely a smaller turnout than usual but between Covid and the price of gas I'm not surprised. I almost didn't come. But it was tons of fun! The cabaret was a blast. David Nykl read a scene from SGA, Tony Amendola read some stories, Dan and Alex did a game show, and Colin Cunningham did an amazing mentalist/magicians show that blew my mind.
The panels were so interesting and fun and I loved when the actors crashed each others panels. Teryl joined Amanda's and they reunited Turleen and Minnie which was hysterical. David called Paul McGillion to ask why he wasn't there but we got his voicemail so we left him a message.
I got photos and autographs I treasure, I got to meet some cool people, see some great cosplays, and of course meet the stars of SG1 and SGA! It was great! I plan on posting some more detailed stuff later once I go through all my photos and notes.

I don’t think I ever posted a picture of the Stargate shawl I knitted a few years ago for the convention. Took me forever, but it’s super warm and absolutely massive.
So the Stargate Convention in Chicago was pretty cool. I got a photo op with Amanda and SHE'S SO SUPER SWEET!! I enjoyed all the panels too. They're all so nice and fun. I am going to try and so some write ups on the panels when I get home but for now have some pics I took :)
Some of the fun stuff from the convention in Chicago. A beautiful Stargate we could take photos in front of, I MET AMANDA TAPPING (I'm still dead), an actual piece of the SGU gate, and the two autographs I got: Amanda and Michael. I'm still working on the panel write ups though.
On my way to the Stargate convention in Chicago and I wish I was more excited. I'm basically only going because my sister is paying for everything and she really wanted to go. This is the 4th time going and while I do love meeting the actors and stuff I'm just not into it this year. Maybe it's because I'm dirt poor. Maybe it's because it's the same every year. Maybe it's because I'm emotionally and mentally exhausted. I don't know. I'll still share photos and tidbits and such here and I'll try to audio record the panels if I can. I'm sure I'll have fun but man do I wish I had more enthusiasm for it. I mean Amanda Tapping is gonna be there this year and I haven't met her yet! So I guess I'm excited about that. And seeing Michael Shanks again because I love him. All well. We'll see.
