It had been a while since Foggy got back from his crazy space adventure and he’d finally gotten back on track with his DA cases and felt like things were finally getting back to normal. It was still fairly early in the morning but it was also his day off so he’d only just got dressed and finished his breakfast when there was a knock on the door. He wasn’t expecting anyone but there was plenty of reason to be cautious these days. 

So he picked up his new sword and looked warily through the peep hole only to see Bucky there. Setting the weapon aside he opened the door and blinked at the other man, “Hey Buck, it’s been a while.” The more he looked the more concerned he became; Bucky had never been an easy guy to read but he looked, heavy. “Has something happened?” he asked, opening the door fully.

“Sorry, what?” Bruce asked because a voice had woken him up. He’d been sitting on Steve’s couch having a drinking in the early evening, but somehow he must have fallen asleep because now he was sitting up on the same couch, no scotch to be found, and he was starring at... a man. “Wh-Who are you?” he stammered. Boy, his head hurt. He shouldn’t have had the second glass.

When: Present Day Where: Star City - Rogers-Barnes Apartment  With: Bucky @sgtbbarnes107​

Foggy hadn’t really had a chance to see Bucky in a while, between stuff that’d happened in the other’s life (which he reeeeally wanted to know about but knew it was not his place to ask) and his new job keeping him pretty busy. In the aftermath of the riots few things were actually making it to trial so Foggy had a weekend free. He’d spent yesterday organising his paperwork and today he’d spent the morning cooking up a chicken pie (Grandma Nelson’s recipe) and made extra for Steve and Bucky.

He knocked on the door, holding the large pot awkwardly to do it, and had just arranged it back in his arms when Bucky opened the door. “Hey Buck!” he grinned, “Hope it’s not a bad time? Only I had the day free so I cooked a lot of food and thought you and Steve might like some? Plus I haven’t had a chance to butt into your life for a while now.” he added with a little chuckle.

Where the hell was Matt!? Foggy checked his phone again, biting his bottom lip, he was supposed to be here by now since their client would arrive any minute! His phone finally buzzed and he looked down to see a text reading, ‘Got held up, you’re gonna have to solo this, you’ll do great.’ ... Son of a-

Foggy resisted the urge to flee from the building since he didn’t relish the prospect of being stuck in a small space with the friggin Winter Soldier for the next hour! Stupid Matt... Foggy was debating calling the whole thing off when the door opened and said assassin... Former he guessed, was escorted in and sat down. “Mr Barnes,” he said after a moment, “Unfortunately, Mr. Murdock won’t be able to join us today so, it’ll just be you and me.” he swallowed... He was gonna kill Matt.

Nelson-Style B-Day! || Bucky & Foggy

In hindsight, sending a text to Bucky with just the words ‘come over, it’s important.’ May have sent the other down a darker trail of thought but that was besides the point now he’d finished setting up. As celebrations went, it wasn’t exactly grand. There was a shiny bottle bag on the table containing a very fancy bottle of whiskey (he’d winced at the price in the store) and a home-made chocolate cake, curtesy of his dear Mom’s recipe, a few snacks and other drinks were laid out too but not many since odds were it’d just be the both of them; he figured Bucky may not prefer a crowd.

A knock came at his door and he called out, “Just a second!” Wincing as he turned too quickly, he was healed up nicely but... still a little tender from his injury. Making his way to the door, Foggy cracked it a little and grinned at the sight of one Bucky Barnes, “Well heeeeeeeey,” he stretched out the word before flinging the door open, arms wide, “Happy Birthday Dude!” and gesturing at the cake, gifts and treats laid out, “Never let it be said Foggy Nelson forgets a birthday... I had to memorise yours to pass my history test in school.”

Bruce was waiting in his office at the university when there was a gentle knock at his door and he turned around to see Bucky Barnes entering. “When my assistant told me that you were here, I almost told her to tell you that I was tied up in the lab,” Bruce admitted with a sigh. “But I also assume if Steve wanted us to assemble, he wouldn’t have sent you.” Fidgeting in his seat, Bruce tried to find words for how to proceed. “Uh -- so, should I be offering you a chair or the door?” Bruce then asked as he scratched his temple surreptitiously.
