“When Glorious exploded you saved my life.”
“How could I not?”
I’m rewatching the episode and I have so many questions. Chief among them being: why didn’t Izzy stab Jonathan with Glorious when he passed by her in that narrow, uncovered bridge, leaving his entire back exposed? We’ve established that running Heavenly Fire through Jonathan would even rid him of his demonic blood. Surely stabbing him would’ve been Plan A and stabbing Clary - their friend - would’ve been Plan B.
Less importantly, how did Simon find them in the Seelie Realm? The whole point of the Wandering Woods is to be impossible to find your way around it if you don’t know it well enough. Simon doesn’t know it well enough.
Same question goes to Magnus finding Alec and Izzy in Idris. How did he know where they were and how to find them? But also, thank god he did because Alec was stupidly going to get he and his sister killed. Having a famous last name doesn’t kill ten dragons, Alec.
Clary can use Lilith’s demonic magic to “drive” the apartment because...?
I can’t believe I’m going to say this but, from the little that I remember from the books, there was an explanation on how Jonathan was able to deactivate Alicante’s defenses. Not so in the show. There, I said it. I’m going to go wash my mouth with soap real quick. brb.
Alicante has cannons with angelic blasts. It’s not a question, it’s just me stating that because it is SO COOL. Back to questions.
Why did Jace, Clary, Alec, and Izzy assume that the Mornings Star Sword could close the rift? Cut it open, yeah, definitely. But close it? When did a sword ever close any cuts?
Again, at no point in this episode, it was never explicitly said or even hinted at that Magnus couldn’t come back from Edom once he closed the rift. Apparently, him leaving and closing the rift wasn’t the original ending of the episode (I’m not calling it a “cliffhanger” because it isn’t one - we’ve seen Magnus both close a rift to Edom and come back from Edom so there’s no reason for us to think he can’t do both things again). Maybe the intended ending was Magnus, in Edom, finding out he can’t come back. We’ll find out on Monday.
In any case, this episode has two amazing things: the lovely proposal and Jordan is dead. I’m throwing a week-long party to celebrate both of those things. You’re all invited.
Yes, I've spoiled myself with THAT scene, and I regret nothing!
“You can't be here.”
“I can't be anywhere else.”
“If you think by buying me a snack I'm gonna welcome you with open arms, you are mistaken.”
“You always come back.”
“We're here for you, Clary, whether you like it or not.”
“Well, the good thing is that you two were together when Alec found you.”
“We were just doing...”
“Research.”
