Silent Hill: Origins
WIP THEORY MISSING IMAGES
travis has powers
mother saw the same vision as dahlia
could enter mist dimension accidentally
can see the magic symbols alessa does
i gotta start the thread warning that sh deals w a lot of dark stuff so mute this thread if this isnt what u want to see.
tw for child abuse/suicide/child torture/gore/blood/psychological themes/disturbing themes
i gonna do this sorta of chronologically so further down more explanations will come. in my theory even things that could be just continuity errors do fit the theory but they are not my major evidence, they just fit what i have been noticing.
in the first scene we see that is raining a lot and there is a hooded figured crossing the highway which makes travis almost lose the control of his truck. i believe that this hooded figure is either someone from the cult or kauffman, running towards the hospital to get alessa stabilized.
it couldn't hadnt been more than 3 secs, when travis jump down his cabin and there isnt a single sign of the rain. in my theory, travis huge scare and the proximity w the cursed grounds of sh made him accidentally enter the mist dimension. which explains alessa first appearition to him.
lets say u are hurt, scared and angry, and asking any deity to send someone who can help, and suddendly this person shows up. ur first instinct is to seek them. alessa initial thought is that this person knows as much as she do. except that after travis backs off and just waves his hand in the nothing she realizes he doesnt even know he has powers.

which fits w her next apparition. solid, real, and angry. so angry. is important to note that from now and on, alessa (due to her mother betrayal) will never trust adults again. so even if travis doesnt know, doesnt mean he cant help. but she cannot simple trust like that, so she makes him pass a test.

she first leads him to her physical body. [she cannot die since the god is inside her and possible dahlia made a spell to keep her internal organs safe too, she can only suffer] most ppl would back away and try to call the firefighters. travis hears alessa screams and barges in.

then alessa says something that contradicts all of her appearing and leading travis to there. why would she say that? in my view it means that alessa thought that travis was expecting just someone scared in the fire and not burnt halfway to death. alessa is basically saying: im not worth saving. and if he agrees he isnt the person she needs help from.

but travis dont. travis, and i cannot stress this enough, is always CHOOSING to do the right thing. he wasnt forced or manipulated. it was his good heart that led him down this path. dont forget this.

in the next scenes we are able to see alessa opening the paths w her powers. i dont believe i ever saw something similar in the other games, the symbols were always solid, blood, paint, etc. in accordance to my theory, travis can see it, because he has the same abilities.

the hospital scene just reinforce this. i dont believe alessa was giving a bloody hand print approval to travis be allowed to travel between dimensions. no one ever needed. no one ever did like he does.

for me, this is alessa teaching travis how to use his powers.
now lets go back a bit (or forward on time) to understand why travis having the same potential of powers makes so much sense to me:

the cult has always been predominant part of the city, aka, the god has always been searching for a suitable person to birth them.

notice how dahlia is only famous due to her "craziness", which started by the time that origins is occurring. dahlia took over the cult leadership after managing to incubate the god in alessa.
so before that, we still have the cult and the god trying to push forward their plans. this would had hapenned before, right?

is important to notice that dahlia has the same powers but she is not as powerful as alessa. travis mother can also do this, but she is most likely a christian raised woman, contrary to the possible agnostic/pagan dahlia background.
now i gonna get into the thick of it. lets say these two women, got intercepted by the god in an attempt to claim their child to birth Them, they both saw the same thing

this creature, in either cryptid terms or imagery saying that they would be inside their children and that they need suffering to come out.
or as vincent and heather debated:

dahlia interpreted correctly what the god wanted

but travis mother, helen, didnt took these visions as a good thing (as one should)

now the thing is, all the cult always assumed that to "give birth" it was necessary to be a (cis) girl, which according to registers, many died cause they did not had the power enough to support the gods incubation. but is it really necessary to have an uterus? i dont believe so. in my understanding, the god only needs to be inside a powerful human like a seed needs fertily earth, it doesnt care about a specific place.

in fact i saw some posts joking how according to silent hill "logic" the uterus is connected to the mouth, as shown by heather throwing up the god and claudia swallowing it back. for me it couldnt be more clear that the god is inside the human in a different level and does not need a uterus to grow. in fact, heather never had a pregnant appearance and grunted in pain as if her organs where being pushed by the evil little baby everytime it grew.
according to very cult register these are the only requirements to incubate and birth god:

travis just doesnt have the same powers as alessa, he was/is so powerful, that the very god seeked him directly. his mother in what she was misled to think that would kill him, attempt to set him on fire, almost managing to finish the ritual, almost sending travis to the same painful path that alessa is suffering. travis was the original incubator and he dodged a huge fucken bullet.

this is further cemented to me, due to the fact that despite his obliviness to more complicated motivations, he seems to instinctively understand the dimensions he is in, what pieces the flauros has, and how to assemble(make a spell with) it.

contrary to harry, that just had the flauros used as basically an amulet, travis assembled and joined the symbols, and he broke the spell that was caging alessa in the other world.

the angle of the shot is meant to be both travis pov and to remark that alessa is now more powerful. notice travis surprise to her presence in is on the "here". not only he travels by choice between dimensions, he also has easiness in understand in which level he is, contrary to most protagonist, that are always confused about it being a dream or not.

dahlia is quite pissed at this unexpected turn, cause both she and kauffman were assuming that alessa was merely using him as a vessel to her powers.
in fact, here we have kauffman doing very wrong four assumptions, three which are confirmedly wrong and one which im absolutely sure he was the most wrong about

1-kauffman basically says he was being mentally manhandled by alessa. these abusives pieces of shit dont understand why travis would help alessa otherwise.
2-they assumed he would leave, cause alessa has been caught again, and thus, he would be freed of her influence, which once again, he is not.
3-one more time, kauffman absolutely believes that travis has no agency on what he is doing
4-finally, and most importantly, the things travis did required power, so much, that kauffman calls him conduit. travis is not a conduit, he is a power house himself, his powers only pale to alessas because he was never properly trained. kauffman see no risks in sending him to sleep, cause for him, he is powerless.
alessa, in her last attempt to save herself and the world from being plunged in the darkness, shares her cage with travis and hope that he finally manage to use his powers at full capacity
remembering that travis fell asleep and thus this gun is symbolical, travis is using what he knows it is the most powerful thing against the demon in their cage. the gun is like a wand in this case, if it helps.

Silent Hill + Shotgun
People can mock Henry Townshend all they want, but they can't say he isn't resourceful. He's probably so quiet because he's constantly plotting what item in the environment he can use to destroy his enemies.
"But what about Travis?" you may ask. That is an unfair comparison. Travis may be a bit more expressive, but he is also a powerful and unnatural force of utter destruction who can stow away fifty TVs in his pockets and slaughter demons with his bare fists. The man is not natural, a god of destruction who does not need to put the same amount of concentration into how to survive as Henry, a normal introverted mortal, does.
