🏙️ congrats to leo for being the first sim to move into my newly (mostly) finished downtown, which i've named sycamore. it's the closest city to signal hill, directly attached to the university, and is also where the rothmanns lived before moving.

expect more sycamore in rounds to come!

back after my little hiatus :)

played the gwen-joseph household after finishing up with leo but not much happened so this is all i've got for a post lol. joseph got a new look and also a little unrequited crush on kira. rip.

🏀 we're back with the dunns which means we're back working at the gym!

mikey tagged along today to... help? but he ended up kind of just being a nuisance lol. josie handles things pretty well herself with a handful of employees.

round 8 is almost over! we only have two families left, starting with the king family! ☆

the family adopted a dog named daisy, everyone got a makeover, and i did a reno of the house.

to briefly address the surname retcon from kirk to king!

i recently redid my tag system, and since i was already fixing things on my blog (and in my spreadsheet and in simPE), i decided to retcon kirk as a surname at the same time, which is something i've been debating doing for a while now.

i wasn't very familiar with a certain far-right american political figure back in late 2022 when i originally made anthony and natalie as sims for signal hill, but over time it's been bothering me that they shared his surname, especially as the name association has become more prevalent.

i don't think it's a big deal for sims to coincidentally share names, and especially not very common surnames, with public figures in general: sometimes it just happens! you can't avoid every single overlap! but for this specific case it was starting to bother me personally. like can you imagine if i had picked erika as one of the twins' names, which was an option i literally had in my mind at the time? yeah. no thanks lol

so yeah that's all! new name over here. i didn't wanna say nothing about it, especially since i've gotten asks about it before, but i also didn't wanna make it a huge huge deal lol. there might still be some mentions of their old surname in old posts, but i'll find those over time lol

as a bonus, some shots of the house reno!

i desperately needed a bigger kitchen and a less awkward layout so i fully demolished jamie's old room to expand the kitchen and dining room. this reno made me pull my hair out and i almost fully scrapped the house and moved them to a new house but i powered through lmao

last time with the fletchers, daniel and james welcomed baby ella to the family, and they were desperately running out of space in their tiny apartment. so a move was in order!

they were able to scrape together the funds to purchase a little house together, and moved in to kick off this round 🍂
