Two years after Marineford, Ace finds himself with one last regret regarding Luffy: that they spent so much time apart. The urge to mend that divide drives Ace to make a special request of his brother.
Luffy, who's always blurred the line between greed and love, approves to a startling degree.
My Shamrock/Ace fic is going great, leashes and celestial dragon bullshit on full display but also the more i write them interacting and the chapter Ace confuses Shams for Shanks, the more I am getting on the bandwagon of ShanksAce
Actually, Ace sandwiched between the twins while they try to win him over would be so so so tasty
Shanks in this scenario asked Shamrock to save Ace using abyss no matter what, and Shams who owes him a favor did, with two or so years that Ace has to stay in the holy land, it was supposed to be only a year but the twins agree that it is best nobody knows that he is alive until he is good to move around
Shamrock who made sure he got the best care, new organs and designation as a pet of the Figarland heir and Knight Commander, few people can question them and if they do they have to deal with his father. Who doesnt know just what kind of 'pet' his son took in
Ace who fights being in the capital every step of the way, trying to escape every chance he gets, Shamrock having to reign him in without much luck.
Trying to win the brat over without hurting him because he promised Shanks, but Ace manages to win him over instead.
Shanks eventually making his way to the capital to speak with Ace and tell him why he has to stay under Shamrocks care, and that they cant tell Luffy, not until he healed (this is a bad choice ofc, with how broken Luffy is over Ace's death, but Shanks makes a great case)
Shanks noticing a change in his brother, how he lingers and maybe there is some jealousy there. Which makes Shanks pause because he did not consider or focus on his own feelings until it clicks seeing the two men together snd getting along as they talk a distance from him.
Shamrock who is even less unfamiliar with feelings making excuses why he gives gifts to Ace and with each passing day wants to put the world at the 'boys' feet
