tell us about the carapace ! does it hurt / hinder kayn any ? does he feel any sort of way about it, and if so why do you think that is ?
I assume we’re talking about Kayn’s corrupted body parts?
I think I’ve partly mentioned it in another ask which you can view here. To be more specific, however, Kayn’s corrupted body does not hurt him at all. It is part of him as of now, as long as the darkin lives within his soul – and therefore there is no pain to feel from it. He’s half-breed, half human and half darkin. Suffice to say it’s a bitter foretaste about what would happen to his body once he loses the struggle against Rhaast, yet with his overwhelming confidence he does not see him losing at all. He neither fears these changes nor is he regretting to have traded in some of his own humanity. Fortunately all of his body movements are completely unaffected by the change of some of his limbs as well, so there is honestly nothing for him to regret. His appearance is now rather grotesque to say at least – yet he has no social contacts anyway nor has he any interest in them. For most he appears like a living nightmare as of now, and perhaps he even is. Random note, though: he prefers to sleep on his human side now.
