The tree is rarely found in the wild, limited mainly to a few rich wooded areas in river valleys and ravines
Intolerant of urban pollution
No major disease or pest problems
Leaf color: Green leaves which turn yellowish brown in the fall
Flower color / bloom time: White with purple petals which come out in May
Response to Climate Change:
The tree has very particular habitat conditions which may make it difficult for it to grow with changing climate conditions.
Potential Climate applications:
The Magnolias intolerance to urban pollution and rare occurrence in forests limit its climate applications.
