Was having Art Block and thought: I never do digital doodle pages like other people do, maybe I should do that.
And then Stan Pines grabbed me by the throat and took me on a journey, so here, have him.

Thursday, November 16: Shadow Gallery, “War for Sale”
Although Tyranny remained a prog-metal album through and through, Shadow Gallery’s third record was more akin to what Savatage was offering up around the same time: with its sweeping arrangements and overall grandiosity, the album emphasized atmosphere and emotion over musical pyrotechnics. That said, “War for Sale” was by no means lightweight, even if Chris Ingles’ keyboards were a bit high in the mix. The song was of a piece with not only Shadow Gallery’s discography, but also with most of InsideOut’s catalogue circa 1999, as Mike Baker’s vocals were powerful yet smooth while the rest of the band delivered a precise and less overwhelming take on Dream Theater. It wasn’t enough to truly differentiate Shadow Gallery from the InsideOut or Magna Carta rosters, but “War for Sale” was a nice calling card that justified the band’s place in the scene.
It’s finally Friday - beer and good music!

(Stanuary Week 2: Connection - I saw the word connection and this song started blaring in my head soo… I can not be blamed for this.)
“By day I was Stanford Pines: Mr. Mystery. But by night I was down in the basement, trying to bring the real Stanford back.”
Day 1 of speedrunning the @stanuary prompts baby!! Starting with the prompt 1: Mystery.
Nothing says I miss you quite like "I'm running out of time" / And we can argue semantics over who left who first
This was supposed to be week 3 of Stanuary, ‘Fear’ until I completely gave up on it for a bit? Later I decided it had potential still, and worked on it until I got.. This? It does not resemble what I originally had in mind at all, nor does it fit the prompt anymore, but I’m happy with the vibe it’s got.
And thus with the onset of September, Falloween begins, even in the midst of the impending Equinox. The Nativities of The High Priestess of The Church of Satan, and mutually complimentary Gothicon Yvonne DeCarlo, Lily Munster are observed.* The masks of Satan begin to emerge, peeking 'neath floorboards and beds, from moonlit windows & shadowy closets, attics & basements, skeletal trees lurking, beckoning the darkling to become one in perpetuity. Heralding the path to nightmare fane, the inner darkness revealed to revel, and from bubbling cauldrons, unholy confections tempt with multisensory delights, The Devil's Communion invites. Satan's brides by hellements unite! Bats and witches fly, demons arise from pentagram gateways, werewolves howl & stalk the land, ghouls and zombies from graveyards lurch, hooded phantoms float with glowing eyes, vampires and wraiths haunt your dreams. The shadows come alive! Though our dark lairs remain eidolic, it feels like Halloween again... ∞ In Nomine Satanas, Rev. Blackthorne 1 September, LVII A.S. Noctuary, Draconian Empire _____________ * Dracommendations: The Munsters series, American Gothic, Satan's Cheerleaders, Cellar Dweller.
