Rozz Williams and Ron Athey during a Christian Death appearance at Vinyl Fetish, Hollywood. April 10th, 1982
by Dina Douglass Punk Photography
Made me some cd thingies!!
Theyre far from the best but yay!! i have em now atleast :3
Instagram told me that yesterday was Rozz Williams' heavenly birthday. I am not familiar with Christian Death etc but I was struck by the beauty of Rozz. Maybe I should listen to his songs. While browsing through the photos, I accidentally found something that gave me a reason to make a comparison between his photo with him holding a cross of thorns and Trent's moment from Down In It music video.
And the sponsor of my hyperfixation: early Christian Death goth Rozz, because I can't stop listening to Only Theatre of Pain. In fact, i'm pretty sure I've put "Cavity - First Communion" and "Spiritual Cramp" (of Creux Lies, though) to my Top Spotify Wrapped 2025 in like a day. No joke.
Hard not to love, really. All of Rozz's projects were expressions of deep sensitivity, despair and pain.
P.S. I don't know what genius thought that the storyline of meeting Rozz in the rehab would be a great idea for a c.ai interaction, but a low bow from me personally.
It is the sixth of November, so it would have been late Christian Death singer Rozz Williams' birthday (his sixty-second specifically at the year of my writing this, 2025, but if anyone sees this another year, it may be more). Rozz, on a personal level, was a bit of a complex figure that I have some mixed feelings about, but, artistically speaking, no one can deny his influence on the scene to this day, especially in my homeland of southern California. I visited his ashes at Hollywood Forever a few years ago and was unsurprised to see the case covered in black lipstick kisses.
