The web of destiny is a funny thing. Even in the pits of hell when all hope seems lost, light still finds a way to shine through. And now, we sit upon the edge of the universe with a thousand, thousand worlds at our fingertips. The hues of the sky are enough to entrance one for hours on end, fighting to make sense of the world about them.
Though, my attention finds itself focused not on the sky or the road ahead and the dangers that surely await us. Instead, I find my myself staring at her for what seems like countless hours. This... wild, barbaric and yet sophisticated woman who had become such a pivotal part of my life. This woman who in such a short time reminded me just what it meant to live in the moment. I have my doubts still about her gods and their plan, but if sending her to my side was indeed in their plans, then I am grateful. Odyn, Ayir, Fenrir and all the other pagan gods who reign in the skies above, thank you.
She turns to look at me, a smile tugging at her lips and exposing the barest hint of sharp canines. “What?” She asks, containing a laugh as she notices I’ve been staring for the better part of a few minutes. I return the smile and find I have no words to describe how I feel in this moment. I merly reach out and tuck a wild strand of hair back behind her ear that I might better stare into her eyes. “Nothing.” Is all I can manage, but I know my face spells out a thousand words.
