It's the relationship you have with someone who is the last connection you have to your past when everything else is gone when nothing will ever be the same
It's the type of relationship where maybe you're both strangers to each other but you are each other's last piece of home and that's worth something
Wukong and Six ears are both Celestial Monkeys but they were born at wildly different times and Wukong was more preoccupied with adventuring and finding new immortalities that he never spent time with his fellow celestial monkey meanwhile Six ears idolized him from afar and when his mind went with the rest of the island the Monkey King was the last thing he could form concrete thoughts on and the first thing he searched for when he was finally released
Wukong would have shanked his last piece of home if the pilgrims hadn't stopped him and now he has acquired an annoying minion👍 dw he'll warm up to him
