Coach Brunt Dr Bellum Professor Maelstrom Countess Cleo

Brunt's design is based off Eartha Brute from the gameshow + in early concept art she is referred to as Eartha Brute.

Bellum and Maelstrom have counterparts in the 1990's cartoon, Gunnar is called Unnar in concept art? What? Who stole his G? and Bellum didn't have the 'i' in Saira yet.

Cleo? in concept art she is refered to as Contessa, + Contessa is a character from the gameshow

I keep thinking of how Shadowsan loves Carmen the Japanese way, without words, letting actions speak for themselves. He doesn't even tell her once, will probably never say I love you (unless one of them is about to die, the gods forbid), but he shows her with, like, uh, everything.

And I love how Player picks up on that in the "He's a rockstar" sequence.

He is always there for her. He shows up and rises to the challenge each and every decisive moment. He cares.

He sometimes tells her though, indirectly, by showing her that he sees her, that he understands, admires and supports her. And when emotion fills the heart, a look says it all.

He gives her everything, and then he lets go.

Shadowsan rewrite for my au! oh joyus day!

I decided to change a few things, if you dont mind...

The name. Oh god their name. I understand that they're "that cool asian guy" that western audiences are supposed to like, but it feels so tacky and dare I say slightly dumb. I chose Seishichirou on a whim. I also find the detail that "Suhara" is their first name to be a little silly. Netflix rlly said "here damn"

I also made them genderfluid because that's cool. I like the idea of older characters being queer it's very comforting knowing that we can live that long.

I decided to tone them down in my au. They're kind of a massive jerk the entire show up until Zack nearly DIES. They're still a jerk, don't get it twisted, but I like the idea of them slowly warming up to everybody in a more organic way. The show tried that but it failed.

Hideo doesn't forgive them as easily in the show-- or at least that's what Seishchirou thinks. They don't want to face Hideo out of fear of it being far too late. Hideo has no idea Shadowsan's even alive, and Shadowsan doesn't know if Hideo is either.

Also long hair because I think it adds aura #gncshadowsantruther
