I already don't super like Pure Vanilla x Shadow Milk but it pisses me off (/lh) that no one looks at their interactions past romantic intentions. I get it, haha toxic yaoi and whatnot, but it's so much more interesting to view their interactions as something different!!
Like, hear me out, what if the reason for all of the favoritism is not because of being "in love" with PV, but because SM looks at him and sees a younger version of himself, someone who was still a sage of knowledge. He wants to see PV turn evil/beast(?) because he wants to prove to himself that no matter what, he himself would have always turned out this way, he would have always turned into a beast cookie. self indulgent shipping is fine but it gets to the point where the shippers start to merge their headcanons with the canon and like just straight up make shit up. and then they treat it like gospel too like for example the whole “shadowsugar divorced exes” thing or just generally any shadow milk ship they consider to be divorced like shadowfaerie shadowsalt shadowspice mysticshadow and theyre all so ass man. They all rely on this premise of being exes when realistically shadow milk would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS date any of these people. it also creates INSANE shipping bias all of these ships have this weird one sided rivalry with shadowvanilla and always demonstrate the same fucking braindead train of thought that “shadowvanilla popular all popular ships are bad therefore shadowvanilla bad and everyone who likes it are stupid media illiterate fujo tourist ogres” all of them are super critical of shadowvanilla shippers. shadowlily shippers are the same thing but WORSE because their ship has le parallels therefore it must be deeper and more complex than shadowvanilla. Omfg
