I would probably never ask about this on main, but honestly I'm just so, so, so, sooo curious how the percentage of SDVN shippers with rape kink compares the the overall percentage of CRK shippers with rape kink (and perhaps some more NSFW pieces of data). It's kind of obvious that multiple people would take this curiosity of mine badly, y'know, the whole twitter pancakes and waffles thing, etc.
I think most SDVN shippers ship it with the redeemed ooc SM, of course, but let's be real, *canon* SDVN is very much a proship, with SM being a psychopatic sadist, even if it stems from his need to be the one in control, and his loneliness. And some people either enjoy that canon dynamic, or fantasize about PV having those traits, mischaracterizing him (yes! even in his TR form) even more than SM normally is b3ing mischaracterized. Just to be clear, I like SageRecluse or SageVanilla, and I think they're cute, but the most important thing (to me, uh-huh, people are different, yadda yadda, I know) is that they are able to form a healthy relationship. With SM as he is now (and how he has been since his introduction, actually), the only ethical option seems to be shipping him with a psychiatric ward, at least imo.
I think there is nothing wrong per se with shipping the fanon "healthy" SDVN, but yeah, it is fanon, and I think it would be better for that aspect to be more pronounced. And don't worry, I do realize that many, if not most, ships do incorporate some fanon elements into them, but holy shit, SDVN is a whole another level.
That being said, sometimes I'm just tired from CRK fandom having become swarmed with yaoi tourists who either are actual proshippers, or who live in a mischaracterization utopia, while also claiming very improbable and ooc interactions as canon. I adore the Beasts' content, but shipwise I liked it muuuuch more when the main ship war with PV was Purecacao vs Purelily.
