Though their speech and appearance lent them a reputation as simple beasts, the Snøskalaer - or "Yeti," as outsiders called them - were far from stupid. Yeto had sensed something off about the otherwise heroic and brave boy that had visited their mansion. It smelled of the same dark, bitter taint that accompanied his wife's illness.
He did not hate the scent, per say, but he did not entirely trust it, either.
"Stranger," he rumbled, turning his gaze upon the shadows, "show self. Now"
