(shadowy-reito) Cross@Doubt: Hey Doubt... There's a question that's been burning in my mind, do you have any clue as to how beings such as ourselves came to be?
[[ RP/World building stuffs. This will be moved later, folks, and I’ll put the finalized version here once done. ]]
He manifested like oil rolling into a shape. With the only one around to perceive him being Cross, though, it ended up much as before: a smallish lizard-like creature. He might have found himself annoyed at that had he not long gotten used to being subject to how people viewed their Doubts. Voids knew why that was. Maybe Cross didn’t have many doubts or maybe due to being a Voice percieved Doubt differently or whatever else could or might have been.
But it didn’t bother him. It was what it had always been.
What wasn’t the norm was how Doubt treated Cross. ‘Friends,’ may not have been the right word, but he didn’t view the Reito as ‘food’ or ‘tool,’ which as a stronger start than most got with the creature.
“I can only say how some of us came to be and postulate on the others,” he started as he found himself a spot to lounge. Why something that wasn’t actually a lizard would have any need for such was another issue entirely, the Emote seemed to always lounge when he took on a physical shape. “Long ago, back with the first Thought beyond food and shelter. When sentience first began to form, thats when we began to take form. We were just as primordial as those first thoughts. More like animals then, simply acting.”
He sat up and began working his claws like he was molding something, images forming. “We came to be because Thoughts shaped us. How often has one’s doubt been defined by cultures as taking the shape of a snake or a lizard or some terrible black beast. This is how me and my siblings took our forms.”
“But you and the others like you?” While Reitos weren’t implicitely Voices, he still modeled one as that was the most immediate example on mind. “I don’t know. There are many that I feel are... accidents. Unaware that they project themselves and their thoughts across these mediums. Many more whose worlds hug so closely they don’t realize they cross them, even physically.”
“But that still doesn’t really answer, does it? I’m not even sure why the universes would create those such as you. Perhaps because Chaos has it’s hand in things, too. A wrench in the works, a spark in the mind, a light down a different path. Sometimes creatures just need a guiding thought to see that alternate way exists, opening up choices.”
