Placing the Hit
( Following the events of [Questioned Loyalties])
Slipping from the secluded Dalaran alley, Kat made her way towards the Glorious Goods shop. Well maintained leathers clad her body, a dark hood pulled over her head to conceal her identity, furthered by the shadowy veil under the hood that caused her eyes to appear a fel green glow, illusionary ears poking through the hood. Everything combined causing her to cast a Sin’dorei image.
Keeping her head down as she entered the shop and shutting the door behind her, silent footsteps carried the Director to the counter, one gloved hand dipping into a hidden pocket just under her bust. “I believe you have my order in the back room.” The usual Gilnean accent replaced with well practiced Thalassian. The fingers reaching into that hidden pocket pulling an insignia into view, an gold coin embossed with a broken crown and a dagger through it’s center.
The shopkeeper glanced at the door, confirming it was closed before reaching under the counter with one hand. “Ah, of course. Right this way ma’am.” With the pull of a hidden lever and the churning of cogs filling the air, the nearby bookcase slid to the side, revealing the hidden corridor.
A quick nod before stashing the insignia away again and Kat vanished into the passageway, keeping her head low once the large, open chamber in the sewer came into view and with it the shady tavern and even shadier patrons. Her gaze scanned the area, searching for someone in particular as she navigated through the crowd of renegades, pirates, and assassins alike.
With no success in finding who she was after, the Director resigned to playing the waiting game. Taking a seat at what passed for a tavern and working her way through a drink, she kept to her self off in the corner, constantly searching the crowds. Minutes passed until nearly an hour had gone by when finally the elf the woman was searching for made an appearance in the Halls.
Pushing up from the seat and quickly weaving through the crowd, Kat approached the elven assassin head on, giving a quick nod as indication she wished to speak. “You were recommended by a mutual acquaintance.” The Thalassian words came quickly, pulling a piece of paper from a back pocket and handing it over. “The target, a thousand gold for elimination.” The small piece of paper reading a single name, ‘Kat Hawke’.
Reaching to another pocket, she procured a small vial full of a dark crimson liquid, offering it over as well. “Use this. Poison brewed specifically for her and her...condition.”
Watching the Sin’dorei woman carefully from under the shadowy veil the hood offered, arms crossed over her chest with steady breaths. Silently, she planned out the next few steps of her plan.
