Congratulations to Helene Ryu, WMHT-FM's first Classical Student Musician of the Month! A senior at Shaker High School in the North Colonie Central School District​, Helene has been playing the cello since she was 9-years-old. A well-thought-out choice by Mohonasen HS, indeed. She certainly has the experience necessary, seeing as she’s been an Assistant Principal at Guilderland HS for 11 years as well as an elementary teacher for 10 years at Shaker HS and Shenendehowa HS.

So my friend's school was under lockdown because of a bomb threat. And when the threat was lifted My friends teacher proceeded to say "way to go, Shaker, you're the bomb!"

I have never been prouder to say that I'm from the 518. Coming together finally in wake of a terrible tragedy that took the lives of two Shenendehowa seniors and injured another Shen boy and a girl at Shaker. It's simply amazing how people can finally put aside stupid arguments and come together for two schools. Sending a ton good vibes to the families of both the deceased kids and praying, for one of the only times I can remember, for the other two to be alright and heal fast. <3<3

Its even more amazing that so many people tweeted at Tim Tebow to get him to call one of the kids, and he actually did, and it was on ESPN and local news stations. So many people coming together, I cannot even put into words the feeling of love thats there.
