A Story of Now by Emily O'Beirne is a really good wlw book! The two girls are college-age, and they start off as really good friends and it's really cute! It also has a sequel called The Sum of These Things (both have happy endings).

i am not a star wars expert but in a new hope and the empire strikes back, luke uses anakin's blue lightsaber (obi wan gave it to him), but then when he gets his hand cut off, he loses it. he makes the green one and uses it in return of the jedi. the blue one in tfa is anakin's, and presumably luke still has his green one
that seems to be what people are saying! it just seems weird to me that it’s so ingrained as luke’s light saber but i guess it’s bc he’s the Mythical Figure of the day

sorry to bother you but do you think you could clear up the end of the last night's ep of htgawm for me? like, as far as annalise, she knew sam was dead when she called bonnie, but she's pretending not to know, and told the police that she thinks he fled? also, what was in the bags they put in the dumpster? i thought they burned his body? sorry if this is annoying, i'm just kind of confused
Michaela steals the trophy from Asher’s house, while Laurel, Connor and Wes get together to study, and Rebecca decides to steal info off Sam’s computer.
Annalise and Sam fight. She tells him she doesn’t love him, knows he killed Lila, etc. He chokes her but stops and then she storms out.
Michaela shows up at the Keating house to return the trophy, and shit goes down. Rebecca shows up, Sam/Rebecca fight, Michaela calls the other 3, Sam gets killed via trophy. They panic, and leave.
Annalise returns home and finds Sam’s body and waits.
The Keating 54 flee the scene, and argue about what to do. Rebecca gets taken to the motel and comes up with her self-defence argument, which Wes ignores and tells her to stay put. Wes realizes he needs to go get the trophy while the group argues over what they do, leave the body or not.
Wes goes to get the murder weapon (the trophy) and realizes Annalise is there.
This hasn’t been confirmed yet but what I strongly suspect happens next is that Annalise tells Wes precisely what to do. Then, Wes leaves to reconvene with the other 3, and suggests burning the body (per Annalise’s instructions). That’s why when they flip the coin, Wes lies about the result to ensure they burn the body.
The gang goes back to the Keating house to get Sam’s body. They roll it in the carpet and Wes makes a call in the convenience store — it’s implied that he is calling Rebecca, but likely he is really calling Annalise.
Meanwhile Annalise has left the house and is establishing her alibi. It’s during this period that she drives to the police station, hooks up with Nate, calls Sam’s phone and leaves a teary “let’s get back together” voice mail, and then calls Bonnie. All of this is establishing her alibi, her “love” for her husband, etc.
At some point the group goes to the bonfire but I don’t remember exactly where this fits in. But anyway, they establish their alibi that way.
They burn the body, and once it’s mostly burnt, they chop it up and put it into garbage bags. Not everything would burn away with just a low-heat fire like they built, so there’d still be bone, that they need to incinerate. Around this point is when Michaela realizes she lost her ring.
Wes wants to take the garbage bags of Sam’s body and incinerate them (somewhere? lol IDK where), but the other 3 are panicking, and they decide to leave them in the dumpster.
Annalise calls the police to report her husband missing. Her story is that she (just) found out about his affair with Lila, they had a fight, she left, and when she came back he was gone. She leads the police to believe that Sam has fled because she knows he is guilty of Lila’s murder.
Wes, I think, is the only one in the murder group who knows that Annalise knows the truth. Connor, Michaela and Laurel all buy into her story. I’m not sure whether or not Bonnie knows the truth. Asher is ofc oblivious.
Does that clear it up? I might have mixed up a couple things like when they take Rebecca to the motel and when they go to the convenience store, but the big things should be in about the right order, I believe.
how do you deal with arguments about racism/sexism in person? i just had to explain to by brother why racism towards white people doesn't exist and he was so stubborn and like adamant that i was wrong and i get so emotional about it and idk, i just wanted to hear how you deal with it, i guess
oh god I can't
like I'm waaaay better at it now than I was when this happened, but a couple years ago I got into an argument with my brother in law about sexism against men etc and I just floundered it was awful, I said irrelevant things and drew the conversation off in another direction and did all the things i hate other people doing now lol (although that did teach me a lesson about real time discussions)
this summer I also got into a disagreement with my dad re: ferguson and at first I just walked off I was so angry I couldn't even talk about it and I went and cried by myself for like 20 minutes but then I went back and I was more calm so it was easier to resolve the discussion
I used to get in fb and rl arguments with my brother all the time too and I've given up because he will never ever listen so I really really get the frustration of arguing with a sibling
honestly I rip off other tumblr users all the time lol, like I've seen so many well crafted responses to these things so when I end up in conversations that are similar I just use that language to help anchor my argument
idk on the spot stuff is REALLY hard for me, as I think it is for a lot of people. it's tough cause you can't actually see the things that have been said and it can be hard to sort out where the actual point is.
tl;dr I think making sure you listen and get the point of their argument so you can counter what they're saying instead of a "well but ___" that is actually off-point
also don't feel pressure to answer instantly (like just take a few seconds at the least to organise your thoughts a bit and definitely don't leap onto things they say without actually thinking your response out)
and obviously not everybody will listen to you and not everybody will allow you that space to think and you can recognise it pretty quick so those are the people you just walk away from because you will never get through to them
