My personal favourite Shalka-verse headcanon is that the Master grows fond of Alison, eventually. He would never openly admit to it, of course.
But he does start calling her 'my dearest Alison'

For bad or for worse Alison and the Master become friends. Perhaps even a sort of family.
Just watched Scream of the Shalka...
And now I ship Doctor/Alison and Doctor/Master. The Doctor meets Alison, and within a few hours, he's already attached to her emotionally, ready to do anything to ensure her safety.And they trust each other quite quickly *(even though he did blow up her house). As for the Master, he sees how attached the Doctor is to Alison, and goes from "No, I won't even let you see if she survived" to "Stay and travel with us." That scene at the end when the Master convinces Alison to stay was quite cute. "I hope you'll explore how big the TARDIS is." "Explore?" "I hope you'll stay and travel with us, ,though I don't personally like you very much." "Then why are you asking me to stay?" "Because the Doctor won't ask. But he wants you. And you offer him a companionship that I can't give him." He's putting aside personal dislikes so that the Doctor can be happy <3 I'd really love if Big Finish had done some audios with this TARDIS team.
