i fear people forget she’s likely going to be an important part of the plot, overlooking her words because “she’s annoying” or “she indirectly killed young-mi” guys. guys. GUYS. are we really overlooking the fact that she KNEW SOMETHING ABOUT GI-HUN WAS DIFFERENT RIGHT OFF THE BAT. OR THAT SHE PREDICTED YOUNG-MI’S DEATH.

guys. GUYS. DO WE NOT REALIZE HOW CONCERNING THIS IS. (in a good way) either she’s insane at reading people or GENUINELY has shit planned for her future.

she’s building an entire cult that will very clearly cause a roadblock in some way, she has beef with the secondary characters, and not to mention she could have foreshadowed things that we don’t know of yet. guys.

also she’s just?? really cool?? she might be batshit crazy and freaky but so is in-ho and y’all adore him. seriously why are we sleeping on seon-nyeo.

she’s hot as shit too.

also side note shamans are said to be able to see spirits. which fuels my delusions of sangihun hallucination.

That freaking shaman lady. Like… the first scene you see her is just staring right at Gi-hun. 😭

My reaction was: “okayyy?? What are you looking at? Back up.” lol (but real tho, same)

THEN… she “clocks” him right after. Cause imo what she said to him before the guards came of why Gi-hun was really there was pretty accurate. She also goes after him as the season progresses, kept ranting to him about her “prophesies”.

She’s annoying but she’s only funny when she’s with the other main players because their reactions are golden.

Seon-nyeo (Shaman lady) is Cassandra-coded.

Let me explain;

Cassandra is a figure in Greek mythology; a trojan princess who spoke in prophecies that nobody believed, although these prophecies turned out to be true.

!!! SPOILERS BELOW !!!

In the case of Squid Game, Seon-nyeo is often viewed as crazy and delusional, both by other characters and by audience members (including myself to an extent). And something she often did was try and predict the futures and intentions of other players. For example, during mingle, when she predicted that Gi-hun was back in the games for a reason (while referring to Jun-hee and her baby), and after mingle, where she told Hyun-ju's team that they would die a horrible death, one by one, and when she even predicted her own death during the six-legged pentathlon. And nobody believed her, and she was ridiculed by pretty much everyone.

Yet, all of her prophecies came true; Gi-hun ended up taking care of Jun-hee's baby for a short time, Hyun-ju's group all died painfully, and even she died in hide and seek.
