Day 17: Shamosuchus djadochtaensis (may bite when hugged)
Shamosuchus
Shamosuchus — вимерлий рід неозухієвих крокодилоподібних, що мешкав у пізньокрейдяному (кампан) періоді на території Джадохтинської формації в Монголії, приблизно 75-71 мільйон років тому.

#Archovember Day 17 - Shamosuchus djadochtaensis
Also from Late Cretaceous Mongolia, Shamosuchus djadochtaensis is the type species of the Shamosuchidae. It was a mobile carnivore that seemed to have been adapted for crunching into mollusks, rather than ambushing prey from the water. Not much study has been done on this animals’ behavior, and tbh in hindsight I’m not sure why I included it, but it is cute. Shamosuchus would have lived alongside Shuvuuia and the other animals from the Djadochta Formation.
