ELUNE CONVO FIX IT part 2
part 1

actual reality of elune seeing the night elves and choosing to adopt them:
I almost exploded from excitement when I saw the Shadowsong siblings and Shandris. Absolute gold for me.
Seeing “Mommy” Maiev there was spectacular, and it makes me laugh knowing she complains like a little old lady — like that one intimidating neighbor nobody wants to argue with — but I love her for it.
What really makes me laugh is that Maiev is basically like a Chihuahua: small and dangerous. She’s so tiny for a night elf lol.
And no, it’s not an optical illusion.

Thinking about Wolfheart again and thinking about how Knaak ships Jarod Shadowsong and Shandris Feathermoon still and thinking about how Jarod pointedly tells Shandris he can't love her because he hates the night elf government, which is her mom and dad.
I LOVE NIGHT ELVES SO FUCKING MUCH.

Excuse me but this is the cutest thing ever. Look at Shandris... that look should be illegal! Happy Nelf Family!!!
Jaina and Shandris sweet moments:
🌙A purple-skinned, blue-haired night elf stepped out, blinking at the sun. Jaina’s eyes widened and she smiled, welcoming this particular ally—Shandris Feathermoon, general of the night elf Sentinels—as a friend.
“Battle sister,” Shandris said, returning the smile gently. “The archdruid and the high priestess send me to you with joy, and it is with joy that I and my Sentinels come to aid you.”
“You and they are most welcome,” said Jaina, realizing that if Shandris had brought some of her people, it was likely that the other generals had brought what could be spared of their finest as well. Garrosh was bringing all the races of the Horde to bear on Theramore; they would be greeted in kind. - Tides of War
🌊Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Shandris, thank the Light you survived. Any news? Shandris Feathermoon says: Our vessels have been lost. Casualties are... extensive. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Tides carry them home.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Then we have no choice but to move forward. Shandris Feathermoon says: Be careful. Something about this place fills me with dread. Elune watch over you. - Battle for Azeroth
🏹Shandris Feathermoon says: These abductions... the Scourge attacks... the Banshee will pay for what she's done. By Elune's fury, we will bring her to justice! - Shadowlands
I just wanted to write a bit about Shandris in a modern AU.

Shandris has lived with Tyrande for the past 11 years and even if the start of their little family was sometimes a little rocky, Shandris truly saw Tyrande as her mom.
However ever since Tyrande started spending more and more time with her boyfriend, Shandris started acting out. Her usual As at school turned into Cs, her afternoons spent studying turned into nights spent going out with friends causing mischief all around the town and Malfurion's shoes turned into the home of bugs every time he came around to their apartment.
It wasn't as if he was rude. Not by any chance. Quite the opposite actually. He was very nice and polite, always greeting his girlfriend's daughter with a smile, often bringing little gifts to her as well. But it didn't matter how much he tried to get her to like him, she couldn't ever think of the posibility of him living with them.
"I-... Malfurion? I'm sorry but... I don't think we can go on with this anymore..."
"Oh? Did I do something wrong, my moon?"
"No, no... It's not you. I just don't think Shandris is ready to... have someone new come into her life. You've seen that she obviously doesn't like you and I- I'm so sorry."
"Don't be sorry, my love... I understand." He smiled, obviously hurt but truly understanding. "Truly, I do."
They spoke for quite a while after that and Shandris felt bad. She was sitting behind the door to the living room, listening to their entire conversation. She didn't want it to go like this. She didn't even know what she wanted out of this.
She stayed there behind the door, until Malfurion opened it, she jumped back and the two of them looked at one another. He closed the door and Shandris was expecting him to drop his persona, to be mean to her, to scold her. But no.
"Aren't you cold on that floor? You should've gotten a cushion or something to sit on-"
"I-... no..." She could barely let out a sound.
He smiled at her. "Are you alright?"
"I am... I... I don't want you to leave mom..."
"Huh?"
"I don't want you two to break up. Not because of me." She was sobbing and she didn't even really know why.
"Oh, dear child, it's not because of you..." He sat down on the floor across from where she was seated. "And I would never blame you for it."
"But it is my fault... You don't understand. I just... I think I just wanted mom to notice me."
"I understand, Shandris... And believe me when I say that she does notice. She talks about you all the time and you don't have to worry about me ever taking that first place in her heart. That place belongs to you and it forever will..."
"Can I... Mr. Stormrage, can I hug you?"
"Huh?" He didn't expect that from her, the teenage elf who was always frowning at him, hiding behind her mother any time he came around. "Absolutely, Shandris..."
She nearly jumped up and hugged him, crying on his shoulder.
---
From that point, Tyrande and Malfurion didn't leave Shandris to go on dates together as often. Shandris would go with them sometimes, spending time with her mother's boyfriend and both of them getting to know one another.
After a while Shandris would come to the veterinary clinic Malfurion worked at after school, to help around and wait for her mom to get off work, but most importantly? To cuddle puppies.
"Mr. Stormrage?"
"Ah drop that, I'm Malfurion to you..." He smiled at her while feeding the cat in one of the cages.
"Um... Okay, Malfurion." She laughed. "Your name is silly."
"Oh really? And who's saying that? Shandris?" He chuckled.
"Fair, my name isn't all that serious sounding either... But yours is still funnier."
"I know, I'm surprised I didn't get bullied with a name like that."
"Anyways I... I wanted to ask you something, Malfurion..."
"What is it? Ask away..."
"Are you going to marry my mom one day?"
"Would you like me to?" He was smiling, although she noticed he looked a bit nervous after she asked him.
"I mean... I heard mom talking to one of her friends about maybe getting married in a few years... And I just wanted to tell you I would prefer her to marry you over some rando-"
He started laughing. "You think your mother would marry a rando if I didn't ask her to marry me?"
"I don't know! Maybe she would be desperate to get married and suddenly she travels to Quel'danas! And you know what happens in Quel'danas!"
"What happens in Quel'danas, stays in Quel'danas..." He was still laughing. "Your mom is not the type of person to be desperate for someone... I would expect myself to be the desperate one asking for her hand in marriage for the 20th time when she finally accepts."
"Yeah... So... Do you want to marry her one day?"
"I would sure hope to..."
"I'm glad to hear that..."
---
And marry they did. Malfurion asked her to marry him while on vacation and she said yes. Their wedding was just small, but even though that, there were quite lot of people. Tyrande's work friends, Malfurion's friends from college and his brother with his little family.
Malfurion introduced Shandris to Illidan and his immediate reaction was: "You haven't mentioned I'm going to be an uncle, have you?"
"Oh my gods, Illidan..." Malfurion shaked his head.
"What? Kael told me I can't teach our kids how to cuss, so a niece sounds great!"
"I know all the cusswords, don't worry!" She laughed.
"And do you know how to cuss in Thalassian? My husband taught me."
"No... I don't actually."
Illidan smirked. "Great!"
Malfurion shaked his head again. "I was rightfully terrified of you two meeting, huh?"
---
Shandris and Malfurion we're seated in the kitchen, drinking tea. Malf just finished up moving all his stuff to their apartment and Tyrande was off to the store.
"I just wanted to tell you that..."
"I don't have to call you dad?"
"How did you know I wanted to say that?"
"You took notes from mom on how you should approach me with this..."
"Oh... fair... But as I was saying-"
"No, I want to call you dad, dad... it only makes sense."
"I don't want you to do something because it makes sense..."
"Oh my gods, I wouldn't call you that if I didn't want to, alright?"
"Okay, Shandris... I'm happy to know that."
I love how sassy Shandris was with Lor’themar as they prepared to besiege Orgrimmar.
“The sentinels have made use of that terrain for millenia. Our knowledge of the land was old when the Farstriders were young.”
*mic drop, rides away before he can even muster a diplomatic reply*
