One thing I'm very confused about where the story stands now and after 3.05 of Ted Lasso is Shandy.
I really hope we get to see more of her and her story isn't cut off. I also hope she can grow and not be a bad guy. I recently watched the Variety interview and Jason Sudeikis was saying how he had sisters growing up and "Women being pit against each other never made sense in my brain".
What they're doing with Shandy really messes that dynamic up but then I remembered that Shandy is also very much a mess. When we're introduced to her we learn she's also going through a divorce that we really don't know how messy that relationship was. I hope it's another storyline that parallels the main one as people can do crazy things when they're a mess and she can be redeemed because otherwise it's a pretty bad storyline.
i need to know what do u think will happen with colin in ted lasso??? i need him to be ok 🙏🙏 (also do u think we'll get anymore queer characters bc we've been getting loads this season :D)
i fear that colin will get outed by shandy, maybe due to zava? but unsure. obviously i don’t want that to happen as i want him to be able to come out himself.
i did have a theory that michael and colin were going to meet in amsterdam and go to the gay bar together and bump into trent there, as there’s a picture of james lance filming there and apparently billy was there too? so whether or not that takes place before he gets outed is another story.
his teammates reactions are going to be varied, i don’t think a lot of them would understand, especially isaac. for the most part i believe we won’t really see reactions from roy or beard, but they will be supportive, i want ted to give him a toy soldier. i feel that keeley might help the team understand what colin is going through and perhaps would implement changes to kit, but there will be a lot of discussion around it, just like there was in the football cup.
overall, i hope colin will be okay, i think colin and michael will stay together and i want them to move in together and just be happy. like he’s going to struggle, but having a support system at Richmond is going to help him feel more comfortable.
yes. i do think there’s room to have more queer characters within this season, characters i think it could potentially explored with are jamie, roy and possibly richard and also will. i would love it more would be explored, but i feel they won’t as if they are going down the line of Colin being the first openly gay football player, they might not add a queer storyline for Jamie or any other footballer. if they were to do it, it makes more sense for it to be will.
I’m really curious to see how this Keeley and Shandy dynamic will play out.
When we first meet Shandy, she’s wearing the same exact lion costume Keeley wore in season 1 for the (same exact?) vodka brand Keeley did the shoot for.
We see Keeley stand up for Shandy (and by extension, herself) to Keeley’s CFO and something about it seemed like a great set up for Keeley paying forward all the love and care that Rebecca put into Keeley, but into Shandy.
Then we have Shandy making some crass topless jokes on the field that were very much season 1 Keeley type jokes.
Shandy then had some unique suggestions, albeit kooky, when talking to Sam, Dani, Isaac, and Colin during their Zava interview. Once again, very Keeley-esque, as Keeley’s own off-the-wall and unique suggestions and ideas is what got Keeley her own firm.
Even the was Shandy was chatting with the players at Ola’s was Keeley-esque. Shandy was able to play off all the various players and their personalities while still maintaining her own. From dressing down Zava to being more casual and chill with Jamie. It’s a Keeley understanding of people.
I hope this doesn’t turn into some catty competitiveness between the two of them and that they can learn from each other the way Keeley and Rebecca learned from each other.
