Night cap

It’s becoming a tradition - after Christmas dinner, Sharon and I take our friend, Richard Prangley, for a look at the Capitol Christmas tree in downtown Lansing - just a couple of miles down Michigan Avenue from Richard’s house.

For Richard, who can’t get enough Christmas, it is, to quote the song, “the perfect ending to a perfect day.”

By the way, I noticed that the tree is decked out in blue and yellow this year and assume it’s a tribute to Ukraine. I could find no confirmation of that in news reports about the tree, but can’t imagine it’s pure coincidence.

Arrrrrr!

And speaking of books ... a limited edition of “Reid’s Pirate Summer” is hot off the press.

Last July it was grandson Reid’s turn to search for hidden treasure at our Lake Huron cottage.

As she did for Reid’s older brother, Colin, Sharon skillfully documented the event - in photos and prose - in a limited edition made-to-order book.

The entire press run - two copies - arrived in or mailbox earlier this week. Sharon and I will keep one and give one to Reid for Christmas.
